The link does not work. How was this approved.
The PS4 version was already in production well before Microsoft got involved with an exclusivity deal. They were being developed concurrently.
Seriously. I was watching the stream, and when I saw the Final Fantasy 7 logo, I actually said "no ****ing way". It didn't take long for my interest to be quashed when the video rolled.
How did anyone think this was a good idea?
Captain Quark is awesome, both in a good and bad way. :)
@Bloodborn: I have a console preference too, but that statement is just ignorant. Square Enix failing isn't good for anyone, and stealing the work of a developer only justifies their develoment of more intrusive copy protection and DRM systems. Which also doesn't help anyone.
And article number 6 on this topic.
I think it's at about five with this one.
How about a link to the Polygon post that clarifies.
@Gamehard: No, it's not. It's one of the new strikes.
What makes them think its a permanent thing? The Weekly Heroic Strike has been nothing but the original strikes since launch. I *want* them to mix up the rotation to include the new content. I'm sure that the original strikes will be back as the Weekly Heroic sooner or later.
Hopefully in a good way.
Wow. This was a terrible article. WTF/No, sir.
Exactly. You can't compare PS2 releases with current releases and not factor in games that are downloadable only. Obviously that wasn't an option in the PS2 era, so everything was released on disc. Nowadays, smaller companies don't even bother with a physical release. This is a bad case of misinterpreting data.
As much as I love and support the Yakuza franchise, there's no way I can fault Sega for being cagey about localizing the games in North America. The games have a huge amount of text in them to be translated, and don't sell very well due to lack of mass market appeal. Some of the very things I love about the games, namely the Japanese culture and continuous narrative throughout the series, these very things will put off the first time or casual player and impact their sales.
...
Unfortunately that's why I bought Yakuza Dead Souls, but I will absolutely not regret the next numbered title in the series. I'm literally giddy with the prospect of returning to a non-zombie infested Kamurocho.
I'd rather that you overtly put "/s" at the end, but your point is well made.
@we420: Oh my god, I would play the crap out of Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan if it were localized.
Two things is "Quite a few things"? And it just so happens that these things you will be playing on your PC instead? I understand that you like Nintendo, that's fine. It just seems like a disproportionate response.
God, this is the third damn article I've seen on this "issue" in the past three days. Ironically the original article was cited as the duplicate of the article that came later, and removed.
Really. This port was a terrible idea, and a slap in the face of those players who have been holding out the vain hope that one day Square Enix might actually listen to what the customer wants.
