I have CFW on my psp.
Reason - the functionality added to it with apps is what made it a worthwhile device. Without CFW i would have sold mine a long time ago. I actually use my psp more as a PDF reader / movie player than a gaming device. Sony should have had an app store a long time ago for the psp.

I appreciate the fact that he is one of the few people who takes the games industry seriously enough to be an analyst for it.
But i really have to wonder sometimes how much effort he puts in. He clearly does not have good sources for even the most basic information, I criticize in the hope that he becomes better.

Digital distribution is far too widespread on PC already for this to make much sense. I doubt they make much from PC game sales anyway.
I think this is just a stance they are taking to send a message to the console makers, especially as handheld gaming distribution is already set to shift focus to DD.

A wider variety of games attracts a wider base.
For example, where are the equivalent experiences to games like LBP or modnation racers? These games may tip the scales in favor of the ps3 for someone who can only afford one console.
They did try to diversify at the beginning of the life cycle, but i think they've abandoned those efforts too soon. They don't seem to like the idea of losing money on first party games to attract a wider base. Timed exclusives don't achieve much either.
I was really hopeful when they brought out games like kameo, blue dragon and lost odyssey.

I cant seem to download the citation that that statistic is taken from, so i can't really accept it until i see how that figure was arrived at and how the study was designed. Sorry, its the scientist in me.
They seemed to have collected data from persons who were purchasing the games - which may give a misleading figure as to player ages.
A lot of other similar stats were obtained via online surveys - also not representative ...
The problem is that not many adults play games. Its main demographic is young males. As a result there are few consequences to bashing the medium. Magazines like this can point fingers of blame without upsetting any of their audience.
People always say that they dont need or want something until they actually see it or use it.

The PSP2 need to be able to take advantage of the ps2 library. That is essential if it is to succeed IMO.
There is room for a psp phone as well as a dedicated handheld. Most adults prefer not to be forced to carry about a separate device for gaming. The mobile is a must to keep these people interested in the brand.
