Scalpers fed mainly off of miners who could get a return on the over inflated prices. Since mining now is not GPU driven I cannot see scalpers making much if anything on the new cards. As fishy said the 40 series are readily available everywhere even 70Ti's, a stark contrast to any 30 series released.
@MadLad
It's the eye tracking tech used now that would still be an issue I reckon.
Yeah 250 is madness.
Not sure if it is feasible for multiple viewers as it uses eye tracking, so would likely get confused in a group.
Hopefully this will not be the norm, think sales have not been stellar on the new GPU's as they are readily available everywhere unlike the 30 series (at MRP) for example.
Don't think the devs said anything of the sort, it looks more like IGN hyperbole on reading the article. The devs worded it pretty much same as you in the article:
Just say we are doing the best we can to make a game people will really enjoy , using technology of today to enhance a game that was loved in the past . We hope people will love what we have done .

@Badz149
Why would that alienate users? Having Direct Storage support in a game will not mean it will not work on non Direct Storage devices.
Quick get an image of the letter and turn it into an NFT.
Shame none of these companies pick some average non journalist/media gamers to get stuff like this as well. That would be a good gesture I reckon.
Sadly true for the most part, hopefully things will improve once devs add Direct Storage to PC titles.
Definitely needs some 1st party output on there, 3rd party is covered very well.
Exactly, regardless of awards or how many, both games were great.
Just look on Wiki you dummies.
You would have to be quite an idiot to think that proprietary is a good way to go, not quite as bad as Kinect but it is up there alright.
Quick don't let the FTC see this.
ER was released 10 months prior, could explain its absence from the top 10 @ Xmas.
Quite right, while on-board audio has come on leaps and bounds, I cannot use it as I have hearing issues. I have the AE-5, great audio and paired with a decent headset nothing comes close for PC sound.
