Denuvo is not strict DRM it's just really good at keeping software safe and I have had zero issues with it on the games I own. I welcome that form of DRM personally.
Personally I think more of this would be great and especially cross buy. If they did MP titles I could just buy on one platform and still play with friends who either don't have the console but play PC or those that do own the console. Saves my buying a title twice and believe me I'm really not upset about that.
You will most probably find they will tie it to your live account which can also be used on a Win 10 PC (You can see what xbox live friends are up to via the Win 10 app).
I bought 2
PC game prices are very near console game prices now. As for paying for Gold you are paying for the upkeep of the online service, no one company maintains the PC's online services, that is why you pay for it on consoles and not PC.
How is this abandoning anyone?
Not everyone has got a gaming PC and not all PC owners own consoles, how is this counter productive?
I read about this this morning and had a good laugh about it at work. It's an open Beta that anyone can download so there are no special steps involved in getting the download again if needed, if it was a special closed Beta that only previous testers could access it would be worth an article.
As n4rc said it needs more space to decompress and install the files than the advertised download size states.
Same as although it was on my radar since they announced, I will try the Beta to see if I will buy it or not.
Got my code, cheers for the heads up.
Same as but I can see myself spending a lot of time on this title, seems to be the sort of game I like and I will not be swayed by reviews either (never have been if its a game I want then review scores be damned).
From Eurogamer interview:
It's definitely just the one - the DLC," said Jansen. "I don't know if there's a globally agreed definition of the word microtransactions, but you don't pay to win or advance or anything like that. We have DLC plans - which we're not talking about now - and obviously you'll pay for that, but in addition to that there's no microtransactions, as I define them."
That's what I'm looking for and why I have pre-ordered the Gold version with the season pass. It looked nice enough on my PC (wasn't that bad on XBoxOne either I played the Alpha on that)and the mechanics etc. are pretty sound.
I pre-ordered after playing the Beta, what we were given was just a very small slice of things. I liked the overall look an feel of the game and it seems a good title to play drop in/out co op with friends. Different people want/see different things in their game at the end of the day.
Proof or that is just BS.
Get 2 other people that are interested in buying a One at the same time as you and you get a nice discount. Odd offer though I must admit.
For a game that requires an internet connection why keep this stuff client side controlled?
Well there are factions that are AI in the game but we have only seen them fight in space craft.
There is no NDA on the Alpha either so we should see some vids etc. from it.
