In this day and age it's probably expected that online gaming should be free. Back then when Microsoft first brought online gaming to consoles, it was understandable because it was new.
Now that there is competition for even the online portion, they need to get their head in the game.
Then they should sell their phones/cellphones and all forms of communication.

I also prefer the removal AA method because of convenience. I've got two controllers and three pairs of rechargeable batteries. The batteries last roughly 1-2 weeks and when one goes flat, I just chuck in the extra pair and recharge the flat ones for 15mins.
