Thanks to the internet making a big deal out of this, we can get the government to listen. Anyone else would be screwed.

Looks butt ugly compared to PC. It's got awful muddy textures, jaggies everywhere, floors and walls which are completely blurred without anisotropic filtering and the overall rendering quality is very poor. On top of that it's zoomed in... sorry "upscaled" to 200% the area.

Oh and that's compared to a 7 year old PC with a 7800GTX (basically the same GPU as the PS3) which produces flawless image quality. I just don't understand why image quality autom...

It's probably not their area of expertise. Quake 3 had a VM that ran it's plugins to maintain security.

PC is the lead platform lol... Whether it's release at the same time or not.

Things like this actually don't happen in local PC multiplayer games. It only happens because the developers take signed code for granted on consoles.

Nothing wrong with kicking shameless scumbags with no respect for anyone else's hard earned IP. Anyone who worked there and helped them needs a kick in the nuts too for their lack of work ethic.

Guitar Hero 3.

Why don't any of them run at 1080o or 60FPS? That alone is proof that the GPU is maxed out and can't render fast enough. Reducing something else isn't magically using more hidden power.

Very, very few people buy in-app purchases. I'd buy an app outright without thinking for several dollars but I'd NEVER buy an in-app purchase without extensive consideration and before reading up on it. In-app purchases in mobile applications just feel like a scam/money grab. Blame the other unscroupless developers for that.

If they had charged $0.99 for the game outright, they would have made hundreds of thousands of dollars if even 25% of the current players had do...

The input lag can actually be less than a PS3 to TV.

It is technically correct. Even a lowly GTX 660 is probably 40x the power of the 7800GTX in the PS3. The difference between PC and consoles is that PCs don't use low quality rendering. It looks the same pixel for pixel regardless of what GPU you're running. Rendering without quality loss can take 20x the power and produce only superior sharpness and clarity but not more realism.

Wrong. If it can't run at 1920x1080p then its GPU is maxed out. End of story.

Reducing the resolution and increasing the in-game effect quality isn't "not maxed out". You can reduce the resolution to 160x90 pixels and produce Avatar quality graphics.

Doubt anyone still cares. It was a good game though.

Theres a difference between having awesome ALGORITHMS and actually executing them at high quality settings. The consoles output aesthetically appealing (artwork wise) games at 1024x640 or some crappy resolution without AA and with low quality textures.

You can execute the same algorithms on the PC and produce stunning CGI quality flawless graphics. When will people realise that games that look "good" have NOTHING to do with the hardware they're running on. It...

There is nothing intruiging about any of those games. They all have shitty low quality textures, run at some joke of a resolution upscaled to 1920x1080 and have no AA.

If you want to see how bad they really are, connect the PS3 to a Dell U3011 monitor not a low quality TV (yes all TVs are low quality regardless of cost).

Wrong. Console games DO look like crap. Muddy god-awful textures, crappy *x640 resolutions upscaled to 1920x1080, no anti-aliasing and low framerate and are non-existent problems on PC.

If a console wasn't maxed out, all these problems wouldn't exist. They don't have the computational power and RAM to run quality graphics.

I challenge this guy to make a single console game that runs at true 1980x1080 at 60FPS with 4xAA. A console cannot even run C...

The PSP and PS3 are both atrociously horrendous platforms to develop for. Just the non-graphics related API in the SDK is primitive and overly clunky requiring unnecessary reading of documentation and experimentation for EACH AND EVERY FUNCTION you want to call. It's nothing at all like the beautifully designed Win32 API for interacting with the system. I can't imagine how atrocious the graphics functions must be compared to DirectX. I've only developed applications and not games ...

Wrong. The best platform has the most powerful CPU and GPU. It only executes code the developers write and the Playstation and Xbox will do it better than the Wii.

5011d ago 5 agree11 disagreeView comment

Simply running the exact same assets on a PC will result in vastly superior image quality by an order of magnitude with perfect filtering of textures at every angle and perfect anti-aliasing with zero jaggies.

These statistics are ridiculously wrong. iPhone game developers claim 95% piracy but only around 10% of iPhones are jailbroken. Let's assume all jailbroken iPhones only run pirated software.

That means out of 90% of all iPhone users a very big chunk of them didn't even want the app.
