Biggest con is no killer exclusives. Sony seems to be able to sell ice to eskimos though.
Just seeing a decent controller attached to a PS console is enough to get me excited. The exclusive games seem to suck quite hard right now though for both consoles.

I hope the home console user base expands. There's no Wii equivalent this gen to skew the results. Wii U is far more of a core Nintendo gamers console. If we can reach close to 300 million users by the end of this gen that should eliminate any chance of major publishers turning their backs on creating original, expensive titles for home consoles.

Even though I was mostly a Xbox & PC gamer for most of the last generation, I was going to get a PS4 at launch. Lack of BC made me decide against it. Instead I sold my Xbox and bought a PS3 so that I could catch up on MGS4, Uncharted and most importantly TLOU which is now my GOTY.
I have no interest in the PS4 until something on the level of TLOU is released. Uncharted is a fun romp, but just isn't enough. I have a PC for multiplats so the current line up looks pretty...
Reviewers expecting new experiences should stick to indie titles. AAA titles cost so much to develop now that they can't afford to take many risks. When they do though, they often become my favourite games. TLOU being the most recent example.
I would have bought a PS4 if it was backwards compatible. Probably even would have pre ordered. Instead I just bought a PS3 when TLOU came out. No regrets.
Nintendo don't seem to understand or care that most Gamestop employees are 18-25 and take themselves very, very seriously. I hope they get forced to by their managers, that would make my day.
Shooting through walls seems cool. NPCs and animations look a little odd, but I play for the gameplay not the graphics.
Wii U and gaming PC for me.

Geez between this and the 'same old' feeling reviewers are getting from KZ: shadow fall, next gen doesn't really have much at launch.

Not sure it's 100% doomed yet, but if Iwata turns this around to something like SNES level success, he will be a god among CEOs.
KZ3 looks awesome. Shadow fall doesn't look that much better in those shots.
