Incredible that people can disagree with facts. This agree/disagree thing provides hilarious results here on N4G.
The only things Nintendo needs to regain the core audience is
1) Get FULL Third party support guaranteed the way Sony and Microsoft does
2) Make sure the system is on the same or greater power as your competitors
3) Improve online even if you have to charge a yearly fee since gamers have clearly accepted paying for it already.
4) Once you have that ... make sure to market the vast improvements to 1,2,3 to the buying consumer.

@ Eonjay ... fat chance at a price cut anytime soon. The PS4 is selling outselling the competition handily so I doubt you will see one anytime soon as it is unnecessary for Sony to do.
It's cheap too ... I think it's like 12 bucks and you get 8 courses in November with 4 "new" characters and then another 8 courses and 4 other new characters in May 2015.
16 courses, 8 characters, ... some new bikes/karts too though not sure how many ... for 12 bucks. Not bad.

@ randomass171 ... that I agree. He definitely is a unique character but Nintendo should just use that moveset and give it to an Advance War or Battallion War character instead.

If they wanted to do an honorable mention and say ... "bonus ... Retro has already begun working on their next project and rumors are that it is going to be big" ... that would have been better.
I do hope it is Metroid that they are retaking over but if not ... then maybe let them try to create something completely new and fresh. See what they can do.

So true. Today's games are just flat out easy compared to the games before. When I found out Evil Within was "difficult" ... I saw that as a positive especially for a horror title. I should FEAR dying imo.
No. Konami and Metal Gear rarely support Nintendo.
I feel bad for gamers that skipped on the Gamecube and Wii. They basically played other systems while missing out on the best overall publisher of games ... Nintendo.
I generally own all the consoles ... I can't imagine missing out on Nintendo games.
The problem people have is that they look at everything in absolute. They can't accept to just look at reviews as a guide. Read the actual review and not just the number. Then read a few more reviews. Look for differences in opinion on the same part of a game.
I saw some negative reviews for Evil Within were theur biggest complaint was something I know I personally wouldnt mind (difficulty).

@ pcz Konami didn't develop Twin Snakes, Nintendo used their money and one of their teams (silicon Knights) to make that game.
2nd point ... that was on the GAMECUBE. Brawl was in the Wii.
A little too late to market a game from a generation ago while PS2 got MGS2, MGS3 while GAmecube didn't.
@ Chevalier Snake has some history wtih Nintendo ... with games no one really cared about during the NES days. It was in it's move to 3D ...

If anything Bayonetta would probably have scored higher since PS4 / XB1 reviewers have been disappointed with overhyped games that while still good ... failed to deliver on what it promised so far this year.
I still stand that the best combo is a Wii U and ONE of the following (PS4, XB1, Gaming PC)
.... oh and with a 3DS as your portable.
But if you can own all of them ... go for it.
While yes Wii U doesn't have third party support ... it is home to arguably the best publisher/developer in gaming ... Nintendo and it's highly acclaimed franchises (all exclusives).
