Chill out. These are from 2006. The PS3 cost at least $440.00 to produce last time isupply posted. This is not including new, cheaper blu-ray drives, RSX, and Cell components.
Most of that early hit came from blu-ray, which the PS3 did help with in winning that format war. I don't need to explain the politics and why that is relevant to Sony's business, do I?
Is it even considered a gaming machine or something you go "Meh, that's cool." I don't see how you can selll this to a consumer with no controllers. This is more like a Hasbro game set than an actual game machine.
Microsoft Rep: "It uses no controllers."
Cindy from Boston: "Really?" "Oh. Ok." ....*walks away slowly* *Looks at the wii and PlayStation 3 for christmas gift"
The PS3 hasn't had a price cut in nearly two years. Sales are going to be huge in all the major territories. Remember how fast the PS3 closed the gap to about five million in 2008? The PS3 at $299.99 will close it faster because it'll directly be competing with the 360 Pro model at the same price. Xbox will lose marketshare and the PS3 will gain marketshare.
Let's not talk about FFXIII (JPN,) GT5, and GOW III...
Microsoft can't drop the price to $99.99 if they're go...
True. There's great potential for both. I think Sony is doing what they did all those years ago with Nintendo. Take their market share for themselves by combining both hardcore experiences with casual ones.
Microsoft is investing a lot in Natal. Let's see if it pays off for them.
Sony developed the best technology for motion controls with a *camera. Microsoft was forced to develop Natal because they can't use Sony or Nintendo's tech without getting sued out the ***, and now they're pretending like it's the next big thing.
This just means that blu-ray is a huge plus for the PS3 and will be a factor when the PS3 is a lot cheaper this year.
EDIT: Wow. This article says 2008.

inFamous got a nine. Very deserving. Best PS3 game this year, so far.
Lol. I was joking.
We all know Soccer isn't a girl sport, and that it dominates all other Sports -- no questions asked.....

"best sports game of the best sport in the world"
I didn't know Konami had the rights to NFL games....
Uncharted 2 will be GoTY at most sites. Looking foward to that, MAG, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
True. Killzone 2 is better than Halo 3.
COD4 is also generic if you take away all the scripted set pieces.
Killzone has better production values and looks better than any shooter this gen.
It may not have the greatest gameplay, but it's a lot of fun and worth a play if you like FPS's. Just room for improvement in Killzone 3.
Doesn't really amount to much. How many even pre-ordered L4D 1?
Not many. My guess.
No. It has to be a good game first.
Damn HHG and his predictable articles.

Never heard of these rumors. And the XMB is here to stay. Microsoft does the note taking. NXE is a blatant copy of Sony's award winning interface.
No changes are needed.
NYC BALLIN'
Jada mess with that PlayStation

Remember, Sony said that you can use your Dual shock as a shield in a sword and shield combo.

No Punisher demo? Probably next week...
Haha. Born in 2000 is more likely, just like the rest of xbox population.
