how was the 1st one disappointing or even this one? if 90+ reviews classify as a disappointing game to you then there's a problem: you really aren't a gamer. or could it be that its not on your pride and glory console of choice. all i can say is this gears looks sick, (gore, gameplay and visuals wise) this is a really good year for games and makes me happy to be a 360 , PS3 , Wii(not getting much love lately) , PC gamer.

it could reduce RROD chances but i don't think it will eliminate it entirely, instead just give 360's more lifetime.
the game dosent appeal to everyone, just give it some time and maybe word of mouth might spread and increase sales.
for example im not getting it. but if my friend got it and i tried it out and thought it was a worthy purchase then id buy it.
why don't they do this with MMO's ? they receive many patches throughout their life but usually don't re-review. take wow as an example, GS review has as a negative "Player-versus-player elements not complete" me playing today am not seeing this negative because they patched in battlegrounds and later arenas. That's why this just dosent seem right to me where socoms patch issues a re-review but other games that get patched dont. odd, very odd indeed.

hum...i could play a strategic game of 5v5 or a sprawled out game of 30v30, will most likely get both but gears 2 first. And daz has a good point, epic has done an amazing job on the UE3 engine.
but i don't see how more players is necessarily better? espically on PS3 where mic's aren't standard. seems like a 30v30 game with no communication between the party. now if every PS3 came with a mic and everyone had it then it would be sick.
for now i prefer the small gam...
