I also find myself playing games carefully to gather all the trophies in the least amount of time, rather then play through the game once, then trophy hunt on 2nd playthrough etc...
Cross-Edge froze on me when a buncha times. Never happened before 3.0. The enemy would just pause in an attack animation if i pressed the PS button and once i returned to the game i'd have to press a button to get it to move again.
The more i look at the xbox the more I envy the OS features. Its still not worth 50/yr to subscribe to use an operating system though, but gaming is so much easier its absurd.
...I have changed my mind. I feel the overall changes weren't needed and are mostly not welcome. With the exceptions of Dynamic Backgrounds, everything else lacks a level of polish that is neccessary to keep the playstation brand "classy".
This isn't a toy for a child, I feel the changes should be reverted back and explore other options for advertisement, as well as the ticker,infobox,friends background and redundant store locations.
...There is an easy solution to Sony's Operating system woes. Just copy the xbox operating system. Rip it off Feature by Feature. (not facebook garbage) Just take all the Gaming-centric features.

We have the hardware, games and free online. Just get the features of the operating system (aka firmware) of xbox360 and your as good as golden.
...Where are the new avatars? I looked and they added groups as well as a spot for "premium avatars" but no new ones.
Overall i'm not blown away. It was an ok update with some nice features to generate more revenue for sony as well as some very "beta-ish" features. Specifically the Friends list backgrounds and the rectangle in the upper right.
These seem to be things that will be extended and are probably related to the animated themes.

A buddy of mine (xbox fan) just got a ps3 slim. He is now SUPER excited and told me the graphical and audio quality is superb. And the controller felt great. Mind you all 3 of which He heard were less then stellar from fellow xbots. Now he is flabbergasted at how great a system it is and ...
..They are saying that for the time being, before teh ps3 lifecycle is over your going to see PS2 BC in a pay 4 emulator form or FREE for everyone. Either way, ps2 BC is coming.

Its better to hit all sides of the spectrum. A Batman Begins + Batman:AA bundle would of been fantastic!
