I've got a PS4, I wasn't aware the thumb sticks were bad, mines fantastic, when I click I sprint and when I move the character moves accordingly.

I agree, another factor is gamers like myself who played mainly on 360 last gen being finished with the brand. The last 2 years of being on a 360 was difficult to say the least, apart from the obligatory halo, forza and GOW (of which I suffer from massive fatigue) they didn't give me very much to play.
That coupled with the launch fiasco (DRM, Always on, TV, TV, TV, NFL and Prism) meant that I just don't want to support them any more.

I could see it being bundled with a special edition of a game, the icons could correspond to what they actually do. Its just a visual gimmick. Not for me but others will probably enjoy it

i dunno about that, i still enjoy HL2 and oblivion mods to this day. If a game is fun and highly eerm, moddable? (is that a word) people will keep coming back. You get a much bigger bang for your buck and some amazing experiences.
My pc isnt good enough to max out Witcher 3 so ill probably get it on PS4.
