That's why I play DayZ. The longer you play on one character, the more you fear death. If you can dig something as hardcore as a permadeath survival game, that's the one to get, bar none. And all it takes is one bullet from a single careless decision... Just like in real life (hostile) situations.

At the moment, I'm actually gravitating towards games like DayZ. I've never experienced such a fear of death as I have with this game. Play for 30 hours on one character, touring the map. If you're playing the right way, you'll look at an open field as if it's filled with landlines, taking 45 minutes to crawl through it after locating a bordering hedgerow. One day you get careless and walk into the middle of a road to check a road sign and BOOM, you're dead from a sing...

Yes. Technically the beta runs very well. Super polished, crisp as hell and you get into games fast. But on a side note. It's still call of duty, just has the jet pack gimmick from AW. Same pacing, same run, shoot, die, repeat pace we've all come to know so well over the years. Nothing ground breaking or earth shattering like Cod4 or MW2. Just more of the same with slight alterations over last year's veneer. If that's your thing, you'll love it. If you've become jaded ...

I'm so pumped for this game. Looks extremely intriguing. I just hope this and No Man's Sky aren't let downs.

I do buy your argument. And based on your comment I'll definitely give it a try. Treyarch is a respectable developer. Maybe I'm just older and more cynical. I remember #4 practically changed my life and I was still in high school. Now I'm out of college, married and have a kid, and something in that time just changed my opinion on the series (most likely black ops 1).

Maybe it turns me off because I just don't have the reflexes that I did at 16-17. I've gr...

Not comes down to realism vs arcade. I hate arcade, hence my love for driveclub

The mechanics, graphics and gameplay are all the same bro. There has not been a monumental game changer since MW2. The blops games are all practically interchangeable and I've played them all. Run, shoot, die and repeat.

I'm not going to lie. I'm the definition of a cod hater. I feel like that series is presently the worse thing in gaming. They reject innovation and continue to put out the same fodder year after year. My legitimate hope is that it changes or dies. I don't judge something on its popularity, I judge from experience and I've given every one a fair shot yet I'm still disappointed year after year. The last cod that blew me away was MW2. And I'm really hoping they release an...

In a nutshell: it's exactly like every other call of duty. End of article.

The series is seriously garbage and I hate it with a passion. Maybe it's the Madden of the shooter genre. Hopefully they're forced to innovate or discontinue and go the way of guitar hero. I wish they were still of the quality of Call of Duty 1, 2 and 4, but unfortunately, the dollars always follow the path of least resistance for some reason and they keep releasing the same game over and ...

They need a rerelease. All this reboot nonsense will just fall on its face, creating another financial loss for its backers.

Sonic died a long time ago. Id rather honor beloved childhood memories, rather than attempt to reproduce something that will never stand with the originals.

You're not even comparing apples to oranges man, more like apples to seashells found on a polluted beach. Alien had a lot that could be done with it that hadn't been done before. Sonic... On the other hand, is about as beat as an IP can get. They've tried everything but it still falls flat on its face. The best they can do is remaster the original 3 and rerelease. If they "reboot" sonic... I guarantee I sure as hell won't be buying it, just like I didn't buy any ...

I like DayZ. If you feel like playing / gearing up alone, head to the middle of the map. If you're feeling mischievous or heroic, head to the coast for some solid pvp mayhem.

That's quite a sweeping statement. There are so many and I've played some crappy ones. Lego batman 1 for 360 really didn't do much for me. But I've played a few others that were super cool.

Yeah I'm really not blown away by this sale. Lots of fluff / trash in it (Sherlock Holmes, really???). Already have outlast / whistleblower, wolf among us and walking dead season 1 and the other free ps+ ones now for sale. Only one that I'll get is walking dead season 2.

Same here as well. I might get walking dead season 2 though. I just home this f'n game has an invert setting, unlike the first....

So much possibility for that era. 1900 - 1920 was a very interesting time in American history. The "Wild West" was still very real in more remote areas of the country while urbanization blossomed in the other regions. I'd keep an open mind if that's the direction they went in - rockstar is more than competent enough to handle it well.

The Wild West coming to an end is the perfect solution for the time period. Can be part western, part gangster film, kind of like that Bruce Willis film from the 90's. A lot happened in that time period. it'd be great for weapon upgrades, etc, because of advancing technology. Third act of the story could be in a blossoming big city complete with early automobiles, M1911's, early sub machine guns and WW1 propaganda.

AWESOME!!! I can dig more horror games. So far they've been amazing this gen. PT, Outlast, Evil Within, Alien Isolation (poop your pants terrifying), and now Soma, Until Dawn and Dollhouse! I love horror games - benign massochism to the extreme. The more the better.

Last strategy guide I considered buying was for Bloodborne. I just don't see their necessity in the 21st century. On a side note - what makes a piggyback strategy guide special? No sarcasm, I've just never heard of it before
