I'm not sure if P.T. was being worked on considering Kojima hasn't even finished Phantom Pain. I also recall an article where Kojima was nervous about the success of P.T. because he had no idea what he was going to do for the game. Also, P.T. had no actual part in Silent Hills so the story of Lisa and everything was completely separate for the P.T. demo.

I can understand why SOME games MUST be announced early. Games like Fallout 4 do not need to be announced early because 1, we already know it's coming and 2, we know that they usually start work on it once Elder Scrolls is finished or nearly finished.
With that said, some games like an FF7 remake or Shenmue 3 needs to be announced early because there is no way something like that will be kept secret for too long and the FF7 was leaked to Siliconera before the announcemen...

It's not a 1 for 1 remake. Nomura has already said this.
Actually, as has been reported, there will be many changes it seems so this actually could be more of a "re-imagining". Nomura doesn't want to do a 1 for 1 remake while there is a PC HD port on the way, he doesn't see the need to retell the exact same story all over again. He wants to make FF7 as if it was done for the first time IN THIS GEN. So if anything, it'll end up looking a lot like FF15 with new story elements.
People are saying "they better keep fighting turn based!" but I wouldn't mind if they changed it to something like FF15 or some sort of hybrid. Whatever the case, the one thing I really want them to keep is an open world map. If once I get to step foot out of Midgar and then be presented with a list and a map of waypoints, that would way more of a serious bummer than new fighting mechanics. This was one of the reasons why I was against a remake. Way too many people with different opinions. They'll never be able to satisfy everyone. Make it turn based and they'll have to rely on old fans buying the game and potentially turning a bunch of new players off from the old style. Make it something new and they'll risk old players screaming at them like children. Nintendo knows, that's why the NX is coming. Depending on how that goes, Nintendo could end up going the way of Sega in the future.

Often times "What we asked for" aren't always right. What we want in our hearts and what we really want to see are two different things. There are going to be changes, Nomura has already confirmed that. Just be glad that you're going to take the journey again but perhaps this time there will be new surprises.
Agreed. It's going to be completely impossible to satisfy everyone so they should just do what they have to do and we should be thankful that they're even considering doing this in the first place. They could have easily just released the PS4 PC port and gone on their merry way. Like the trailer said to us "Let us embrace whatever it brings".

Because they're making a lot more money in mobile gaming and Pachinko machines and they didn't feel like letting Kojima who was known to go over budget make the game. What I'm wondering though is why they aren't trying to let another studio finance and make it instead and just collect cash from it.
