Really, Halo? You think Rage looks better on a 360 than it does on a new-tech PC? Uh... okay. I'm just going to let that sit there. It's like putting your denseness on display. Also, this has nothing to do with the actual article... not that the article had much to do with anything.
This is a blog entry with no substance. It's not news, and it's not an article. Dude can't even proofread. I agree with his amateurish thoughts, but it's not worth your time.
In the writer's defense, it's just a trip blog. It's really the people who submitted/approved the article on N4G that dropped the ball here. This is News For Gamers, not Look Where I Went This Weekend. Sure, opinion pieces are great, but they need to bring some real thou...
Enough about the games that weren't on this list. The article itself isn't worth the click. All the guy did was compile a list of games that commenters put down. No annotations to the games, no explanation as to why they have value, and no quotes from the people the writer grabbed the game list from. Forget about it being not enough work, there isn't even a semblance of thought in it.
(I actually enjoy reading their reviews, too - they're fun and refreshin...
Not even clicking and going there. This article's about an old topic that's been addressed before. In fact, it's really just a blogger stating his opinion, hoping to get fanboy hits. Dumb as rocks.
Agreed, Mahr.
Treasure is a developer that serious gamers should be required to follow. The rest of the industry sure does (look at the new Kid Icarus preview alongside this game!). Get this one first, and then get the original on N64 if you like it.
This game was the system seller for me, after years of holding back on getting a Wii. Worth it for sure - the soundtrack alone is reason to buy it!
Although - @Eviltwin - it's only somewha...
People have forgotten Leon from Zone of the Enders pretty quickly. Probably better that way, but he's the perfect candidate for this list. Thank goodness ZOE2 fixed that up with a vengeance. Granted, the protagonist's name is Dingo, but he's awesome. Makes up for the whole thing.
But the list was entertaining to read. I'd say that Ethan was more annoying than Jason, and also "Detective Nahmin Jaydin" - with an accent only describable as "...
It's great to see that Shimomura is back for more of Square's marquee titles. She's extremely versatile, from making weird and compelling stuff in Parasite Eve to charming, memorable music in Super Mario RPG.
She was also one of the two original Street Fighter 2 composers, which basically makes her a gaming legend, despite hardly being recognized for anything she's done.
Oh, Dance. Good to hear from you as always.

Seriously though, I'm excited about that tuning fork/cattle prod weapon Cole has. Looks interesting!
People that conduct good research know that research won't "prove" anything 100% anyway. They also know that any extreme bias, shown either within the surveyor or the surveyed, will skew the results, and they won't be measuring what they think they're measuring. That's the definition of invalidity.
Actually, this survey will probably prove something within very high certainty: Either Ebert has lost his marbles, or he just shouldn't conduct res...
You're both right. The Marcus campaign is good for business, because it's for kids. And kids suck, so these ads are not nearly as enjoyable to people who can type a complete sentence and post it online. Eh, what can you do?
Yeah. The kid himself is doing fine. I think it's the writing that isn't up to Kevin Butler par. I'm guessing there's an entirely different team writing these ads.
Because there's a kid telling another kid to flirt with his older brother's girlfriend?
I mean, that's kinda funny, and it's understandable, but it's also a bit sketchy for a national ad directed toward kids. Not "Good skittles!" sketchy, but sketchy enough. It's also a stereotypical portrayal of girls not being interested in games. See what they did there? Heck, it's not even some machismo-ish game, it's ModNation Racers. But ...
Oh, what's that, Admiral Ackbar? You think this may be a clever ruse in which to lure us in, only to let Ebert spring an ignorant coup-de-grace on gamers?
Yeah. IT'S A TRAP!
Bjorn, you hit the nail on the head.
Once again, Ebert flings giant gobs of ignorance, and once again I just don't get why. This dude was the guy I'd go to for movies. He stood up for "Synecdoche, New York" when no one else did. How does he then ask this question?
What, would you rather prefer Passage, a game that gives you the most biting commentary on life, where the hidden objective is to stop running forward and letting it pass you by...
Snake? Where are you? Answer me! Snake? SNAAAAAAKE!!!!!!
I loved the announcement for Child of Eden, but I wish they had showed a bit of gameplay with an actual controller. Really, watch the demo he gave. It was cool to see Miz do motion control, and it shows off his vision for what he can do with it, but even his conductor-like gestures weren't always getting picked up.
The guy is a gamer. He didn't miss most of the enemies in the second half of the demo because he's not good at his own game. He missed them becau...
The article's argument is awful. I'd quote here, but it's too long.
Basically, in the paragraph starting "Think back to about four years ago," the author argues that our opinions of Nintendo's Wii at the first E3 were just anger and disgust, and later they sold so many consoles! The same is now happening to Microsoft, according to him - "And now, Nintendo is quickly climbing back to the top of the gaming hierarchy with this year’s E3. Now ever...
You Gabes all address each other by a unique last name? Wait, are you all secretly Japanese? No wonder Newell had to embrace Sony at some point!
Update: This clears up my Child of Eden confusion: http://www.examiner.com/exa...
Child of Eden is coming to PS3 but without Move. It'll be on 360 with Kinect. But you know... I'm used to Rez. I'm not so sure I'd be cool with this on Kinect... then again, if I had Benjamins to burn, I'd try it out since I love pret...
Come on! We still talk about old E3's all the time - it's fun. However, the guy who wrote this article brought nothing new to the table, so maybe it's only him that should stop talking about who "won."
