Sony isn't going to buy a whole porting studio just to have a "select few of games" ported over to PC. If that's the case they could continue to port the game's on PC themselves.
I personally think Sony's first party will hit PC 4 to 6 months after the PS5 release.
"So yeah, a small team of 12 made $5 million in sales over the weekend. Not bad eh? What's interesting about it, though, is this is in addition to the money paid by Microsoft to get The Ascent on Xbox Game Pass. This made the game more widely available to players, and hasn't decreased The Ascent sales by any appreciable amount, instead appearing to help power them through with increased exposure."
Gamepass Strikes again.
As if EA is any better though.
@derek "lineup so awful yet people are still buying the console"
I mean they are, it's not an argument. Selling better than the 360 in which ppl here swore that the X Series will sale worse than the X1 actually. Imagine once these games do release. Infinite and Horizon 5 this fall. Cross fire X, Stalker 2 that spring, War hammer Dark Tide, Redfall in the summer then Starfield. The games start this fall going on full momentum in 2022.
Still selling great with no exclusives. Even sold more than the PS last month(in the U.S). As far as games goes MS has teams and hiring some of the best game devs around so they could be even, or comparable quality wise through out the gen.
It is X1 code after all. This game was announced awhile back on the X1 originally.
Due to high volume of people cramming in all at once. They better get it together well before launch of the game.
Lol wut...
Yeah with no Studio acquisition in sight to make it happen after they made that statement last gen.
They're getting it started later this year and carrying that moment into 2022.
Battletoads and killer Instinct were outsourced by MS. Blinx in the grand scheme of things isn't a popular game. A cult following at the most at the bottom of the basket when compared to MS Ip's. It also doesn't help that MS squashed the IP 6 years ago. Unless they planning on reviving the IP??? I dunno. You have a better chance at seeing Kameo or Viva Pinata get revived then Blinx.
I've owned and played blinx had allot of fun with it back in 2003 October to...
Fable, perfect Dark, Battletoads Killer Instinct needed developers. MS 4 short years ago only had 5 studios. Now they have 22 or 23 studios games like Fable, perfect Dark etc are being revived. MS hasn't forgotten about these games they just had no teams to make them before.
It's already said that Sony won't release their games day and date on PC simultaneously alongside PS5. Personally, I think they'll release their games 6 months after the PS5 version. Sell the console and games mainly on PS5 get bulk of the sales on there and make additional sales on PC 6 months later. Extending the legs of the games further by expanding the audience.
Sony does have a blue print of what works for them in the type of game play and narrative that they want to achieve but so does everyone else. You said it yourself it works for them. look at EA, their games aren't formulaic they're straight up copy and paste of their sports franchises. The fact they need to reboot Dead space to further test the waters to see if ppl really want a single player driven experience is laughable when everyone did clearly since they bought Fallen Order. <...
Shawn Layden is a former Chairman, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
He was responsible for the great library of games the PS4 has.
He's not just some guy you must be a brand new PS fan.
That's what he's saying Somewhat. He saying there's less risks being taken in the industry, shunning the little guys and making deals or making games that are 200m$ ventures. Talking with the same ppl making the same type of games.
I would argue that these big AAA games are are very important in exploring what a game could be, the next big thing. The possible break through with cutting edge technology to bring these games to life or build a brand new engaging ga...
It's good to see and a small team attempt to give us a Cyberpunk world. A world that we were promised for 8 years from a certain company.
With actual gameplay to show off.... With a 3 man team... Yet we barely have gameplay from any of these major AAA publishers and we're what almost 9 months in the generation.
They are said to be looking for a publisher to back there game and good luck to them but they just need to be careful who they partner w...
If that's the case Sony needs to use that supply in other country's if that's the case. We could use more here in the U.S. Even in Europe as well. Switch and handhelds is solely what they're interested over there.
"Of course, sometimes the possible con of this is that, you know, people might be too overflowing with games and so each game gets less attention."
This is how not works.
With each new release MS "spotlights" a particular game that they want to highlight. Say The Accent that's a major indie release that's on the same scale at Ori quality wise that game will get the spotlight and highlighted for gamepass as the game to download....
Stalker is timed. Redfall is next summer sure it could get delayed just like a death loop has I guess we have to see. Then again any game can get delayed at this point. That's all that's been happening across all game developers.
"I never mentioned the no game argument what I said most of these games won't release until 2024."
That's just it, why does it have to be 2024? What about 2023? Apparently Avowed and HBII and Fable are ...
@Captain your favorite platform is PS5. If there games do release day and date ( I high doubt will happen) that should never be reason to turn away from PS5. If that's the one console you play your games on then have it, no reason to feel torn to go to PC. Plus the SSD is unmatched on PS5 so the superior version will be console anyway for a good while.
6 months is plenty of time to let PS5 take most of the sales. Say if Rift Apart released in October or December. That w...
