Killzone Helghast edition for 59.99 makes me never want to buy a collector's edition because in just a few months you can buy it for a much lower price.
And the collector's dlc usually includes something so corny (a helghast soldier's head...really?) that makes me not want it anyway.
Just bought the collector's edition of Dead Space 2. I heard you get some cool gear if you beat Ignition, so I'll play that and then hop into DS2.

@WarPrincess: It's not like this substantially detracts from the game. It's annoying, but if you do your research you can pre-order with the store offering whichever DLC is most appealing to you.
I'm an Amazon loyalist so it's not like there's much of a choice here. Honestly, I don't care what DLC the other stores are offering...so long as it doesn't result in a cheap multiplayer advantage to those using that DLC.

Well, that basically confirms which system I'll be getting it for. I really had a feeling that this game was going to have problems on the PS3. Glad I was wrong. 1 disc and impressive visuals, all I need now are some review scores.
E3 was a let down of sorts. Was really hoping for at least one "megaton." There were some cool announcements, but nothing that was really zomg worthy.
I give it to Sony by default. The majority of the games they showed were interesting and the parts that weren't all that interesting were isolated (unlike MS' conference where it seemed like everything between Gears and Halo 4 was out of a Nick Jr. episode).

Both conferences were underwhelming imo. But when I get right down to it I can't get over the slap in the face that was MS' second year of child actors and BS Kinect games. Their whole show was Kinect crap save for a Gears demo, a remake of a decade old game, and a short CGI clip of the next Halo game. MS really let me down. It was really disappointing. MS appears to have all its eggs in the Kinect basket and if you're not into Kinect you gotta wonder what you're going to have in terms of exclusives. Timed-Execlusive DLC for MW3? Meh. Gears was cool but I was really hoping for a new exclusive non-Kinect IP. I dunno...might not be a reason to renew my XBL subscription the way things are looking.

It's crazy how the people that always complain about PS3 fanboys are the ones that constantly try to get them all riled up. It's a good day to be a GAMER, whether you be a PS3, 360, or multi-console owner. No need to try and rub PS3 fanboys because these games are now multi-plat. Sheesh. If they announced MGS4 for the 360 you'd probably lose your mind.
I think Ninja Theory expected the first one to sell gangbusters because it came out in 07 (I think) during a time when there weren't that many PS3 exclusives.
I'm not going to say Ninja Theory sucks because I enjoyed the first one a lot. But a new dev isn't a bad thing. Wish Sony could get Naughty Dog (or maybe Guerilla) to work on the sequel. And if they had some Move integration for the bow and arrow scenes that would be crazy.
I find it funny pretty much nailed it.
While I love the new design on Lara and the gritty feel look they're going for, I can't say this uncrowns or is on the same level as Uncharted simply because the trailer was all CG. Uncharted looks so good that I almost thought this trailer was in-game for a second. I mean, the CG looks almost as good as Uncharted real-time. Then I saw her hair move and I realized it was CG.

Hmmmm....I really hadn't considered that. I have an eye toy just collecting dust....it'd be really cool if Sony has some cool Move titles coming down the line. Maybe that's why the Sony event is scheduled to take five hours. Sony has a good amount of stuff to cover this year.

When I said the store being down hurts Sony more than anyone I was including loss wages and loss of reputation with it's partners and devs. If you're Pixel Junk and you're losing out of income for three weeks or so maybe you figure it'd be best to go multiplat to avoid those sorts of losses in the future.
