The reviews tell a different story, because if reviews say this is the second coming people will listen. Just look at Halo, sure it got a whole lot more attention back in the day but the reviews where there to back it up, same in this case. Gears 2 is a great game, with good graphics, great gameplay, a good online experience and a good story, I doubt you have actualy played gears 2 saaking.

But I definatly agree, you should buy a console because it has a lot of titles you want to play because in the long run you'll get sick of that game.
Its the means by which many people decide which games to buy and not buy, a 7 in this day and age could be the killer for some, and that is a shame since I doubt all the reviewers up to this point have been lying, funnily enough all the bad reviews surfacing come from scandinavia (btw thats not a diss, I am Swedish myself).

This made me quite angry, I was actually gonna buy this game, but now! after this! It's one thing to tweak a little, polish if you will, but if this game truly looks this disappointing then frankly I'm out.

What do you mean, sure he may be a fanboy (a topic which I'm not going to delve into) but the best looking games the 360 offers are Gears of War 2 and soon to come Alan Wake and Splinter Cell Conviction and while they are lookers Uncharted 2 is breath-takingly beautiful, soo much in fact it evidently is distracting.
This game looks great, it exactly this kind of innovation we need in games, much like Flower this game is set to make the player experience a rollercoaster ride of emotions brought on by what seems a very effective way of immersing the player into the characters shoes.
So I don't see how this game looks like crap,but ultimately this game hangs on its story.
They are not even giving out a score, but they say it's really good, he's just saying the first half is better than the second, that doesn't mean the second one is bad.
