I bought 3 consoles this gen and I'm the verge of re-buying one(360, mine is taking it's last gasps of air by the looks of it).
It wouldn't be very smart to enter this late, with the competition so far ahead, in a recession with all the other consoles at very reasonable prices for the amazing tech they offer, it would be damn near impossible to pull of a stunt like this though.
A new console maker?
Atari? Sega? who could possibly want to make such a bold move as to enter a console so late? Looking back it hasn't worked out that great for those that have, but it's still an entertaining idea.
But yeah I think it would be wise to keep these consoles on the market for a long time, I mean they have just barely come out and the games we are seeing are just phenomenal, not just graphically but gameplay wise.
I wanna see developers really start to struggle before they should even consider a next gen batch of consoles.
Since when is 8.4 a bad score? And isn't a flop technically a game which fails commercially, I have seen evidence of the contrary in fact.
Halo (the first game) was considered a fresh breeze among FPS's and a revival of console FPS's (since the goldeneye days) and the overabundance of awards and praise it got was in my opinion well deserved (despite not caring much for it myself)
Halo 2 among many considered to be what the first game aimed to be and while the game fe...
But If you look at it from a popularity standpoint MW2 has more fans, KZ2 offers a drastically different FPS experience thus it won't go mainstream because lets face it if it's not COD people just turn a blind eye.
I will always enjoy Killzone 2 more than I did L4D and COD4. But thats just me, if you don't I respectfully let you express your opinion but what I won't stand for is you passing it off like it's fact.
Personally I'm going to be happy playing L4D instead o...
Don't you mean to say, no-one playing the games? Because I asure you they are not one and the same.
I agree the MS markets their games better and has a target demographic they know buy what the dish out, and that the PS3 has an older demographic some of which might not be as hardcore gamers (due to time mostly I guess) as the teens buying 360, which you know is true. I do not mean that the teen demoraphic the 360 has is a bad thing, quite the contrary.
I also think ...
Are you saying Uncharted copied GeOW?
The cover system yes otherwise it takes inspiration from Iniana Jones and Tomb Raider, btw do you have a reason to try and bash an awesome game like Uncharted, especialy with all the reviews and praise that game has got? It may take a lot of inspiration from other games but they do it right.
On topic I think the price of games today is making me picky, but I'll try to find a source with similar a game taste to my own (noobtoob) a...
Truly hilarious read, you sould post this on BJ.
Only a couple of months ago I'd say the ratio was 50:50 but as of late N4G is 95% PS fanboys, 4% whom embrace both and 1% 360 fanboys.
And if you haven't figured out there wasn't actually a study then...uhm never mind.
But the screaming bias and contradicting nature of your name vs your opinion forced me to take an active stance.
First of all your name completely contradicts your opinion, I suppose the general idea of it being to put aside fanboy antics and enjoy the games, hypocrit is what that is called.
Second- For every game you love on the 360 I can name one I equally or enjoy more on the PS3, what does this tell us that one has a better library? No! It tells us I enjoy games that you might not enjoy as much or at all and vice versa, it's subjective kid! So grow up and buy a PS3, the same goes for pe...
You could diss FF on the same principle, the Halo franchise has 6.
It's irrelevant how many ratchets have been released since they have always been my favourite platformer, not to mention that the games extend across 3 platforms (4 if you count the mobile phone game).
If you don't like the cartoony style platformers then hold your tongue because I enjoy ratchet over Banjo & Kazooie and Jak & Daxter.
Looking at both platforms holiday line-up they both l...
But seriously a smart purchase, now is the best time, a lot of amazing exclusives to catch up on and a future that only looks brighter, throw in a blu-ray player, free online service etc and that encompasses an awesome deal. As a gamer in today's day and age it's stupid not to want or at least strive to own both systems.
I did the same with the 360, at first I let my prejudice of it's problem cloud my judgement about the thins it does well, but now I have looked past that and I a...
Splinter Cell looks amazing no doubt, but from what I have seen it doesn't look as good as Uncharted 2, this however does not mean it wont have awe-inspiring moments that match or even surpass those of Uncharted 2. In terms of gameplay and fun factor etc it hard to say which'll be better, past Splinter Cell games have no doubt been amazing but in terms of being the "best" sneaking game? MGS has had nothing short of gargantual following.
This is always an issue concernin...
Hands down, it's a neccesary experience. It's soo unique and special and for that it deserves a special place in my heart.
In three years I have played some phenomenal games on both plaforms.
The best include:
Uncharted: drakes fortune
Ratchet & Clank
Resistance 2
Infamous
MGS4
Killzone 2
GT5 prologue
Gears 1+2
Mass Effect
Crackdown
Left 4 Dead
Notice how soo many of those are the PS3 exclusives? I am not denying that you might not like some of those exclusives, I do! thats all that matters, forget hardware, graphics a...
Am I seeing double?
You guys are like Ying&Yang, pretty funny.
I have to say tho that as of this moment we know much more about uncharted 2 and it's strength vs it's flaws (of which there are very few), however MW2 hasn't had any reviews so far and very little is known apart from the credibility of the devp and the polished graphics.
After the sales, games, slim, improving PSN?
If you haven't noticed both companies have been aiming for the balls since the git-go kid. MS has just been prevailing at being the most d***ish until now.
That would imply, at least to some degree that Sony is a burden or someone Rockstar is reluctant to do business with and I doubt that, Sony and Rockstar do business because they can benefit each other, Rockstar knows that Sony is somewhat responsible for their immense success (GTA III) and vice versa. This doesn't just lead to them both having a lot of respect for each other and considering Rockstars deal with MS I'm sure they felt partly responsible to Sony, thus I think Agent was born, and ...
