Everything about GoW III is pure awesome but that doesn't take away from it being a lot like it's predesessor, a good thing but where people might have looked to see evolution there was much of the same (again far from bad). Do you really think that Gears of War 3 will come out this year? Alan Wake, Reach and Conviction & Fable 3 are more likely.
Basically how I see it is that the PS3 has had a really strong start to the year but MS will pick up very late and probably release many of these games within a short timeframe, great for pushing consoles but the sales of the games releasing close to Reach will suffer.
It's been an awesome year so far and it shows no signs of slowing.

1. Uncharted 2 has sold an excess of 3.5 million copies, far from flopping in sales like you so "accurately" predicted a while back.

I love my PS3 and I think its a huge shame Portal 2 isn't coming to the PS3, it's one of the main reasons I bought the crappy Orange Box port before I had a 360.
Portal was one of the greatest and one of the most innovative and original games this gen, pure brilliance from start to finish.
