You have a point there, but the only difference is that SW doesn't have a proven single player experience as does the GOW series.
That being said, as long as the game is of a considerable (and acceptable) length and is built very well then I don't mind the lack of multiplayer.

The facial animations are amazing. They are on par, if not better, than Uncharted. Can't wait for the full version. I may have to import the Japanese version if they don't bring it to the West.

Because video game consoles have a very, very small mark up (usually $1-$2) so Amazon and all other retailers care much more about software sales than hardware as far as consoles are concerned.
This sort of thing could only work for a racing game. Games produced by R* or Square are story driven and consumer would never allow a company to sell a game with only a portion of the story included.

Although I know better than to engage an argument with you... Every demo you downloaded from Xbox Live might have had 10mins of playtime as oppose to GT5P (not a demo) where you can play forever while making progress especially where online is considered.

I think you may have a point there. I believe that Microsoft is still unaware how many arcade (core) units consumers are using. They cant really make a promise that every owner of GTAIV will be able to use the DLC without spending money on other accessories.
I'm sure they can find a way around the situation that would avoid any sorta of legal troubles, but the possible uproar that could occur may still be more than they or even R*/Take2 are willing to deal with.
1. Consumers are generally unhappy with Window Vista,
2. Microsoft is discontinuing support of XP in ~June/July(?) despite request from users who still favor it.
3. A new version of Windows supposedly being released next year.
4. (Hell why not?) RROD - the allegedly know conditions that caused it.
I think with these things considered you may realize that Microsoft typically doesn't do things "for the fans" before money is considered.

When you Xbox Live users can show the PSN users how signing up for MGO beta for Xbox Live is much easier than it is to sign up for PSN we will all bow to the power of Xbox Live.

1. Did not get into beta, or
2. Do not own a PS3.
