Well, yes, there has been an overstated fear of fees.
I'm one of many people disappointed in those two things... LAN will never come (except if you host tournaments, and hire a Blizz guy for the day), but why didn't they think of cross-region play as a main feature? They say they are all about interconnectivity and social themes. Don't they have any European/Australian friends?

It also adds interesting info on Jimmy and Kerrigan. The game doesn't specify they grow very close...

Well, there has been talk of a professional-only version where a Blizz employee needs to attend to allow LAN play. For tournaments, basically.
True, it's very sneaky if this is the case. However, we're still way before launch date, I think it's within their rights to supply that demand, and also moral rights, to supply people with what they want.
As for Frostmourne, as long as they are numbered and then un-numbered, I think that is fair enough, coming from an artist's or craftman's point of view.
