I bought a ready modded Pc (well, not stealing cread or anything, I needed the specs, and I got it cheap), and it was well cool to go to LANs =)

I really hate football manager games in the first place, so it's nothing for me, but I have throngs of friends who are fans of the genre, so this has some serious potential to be popular.

Betas nowadays are more like pre-sale marketing than actual beta testing. sure, they do some beta testing, but most of it is just to increase hype.

I agree, and it is probably like Karune said before that most work is with single player, so not much multiplayer updates.
Nothing stopping them from releasing the beta for multiplayer now then...

Yeah, I think that they intentionally tried to go certain paths in the tech tree to show off specific strategies of the game.
