I think the excite, at least mines, is about the developers. We have seen what developers can do with so little(PS3 & 360)and now they have even more power that they can master.
Gaming on PC is fun but I find it hard to find a game that really pushes for the story(The Witcher 1 & 2 is the only ones that I liked story wise). Games on the console do that for me though. I'm always open to suggestion too.
Not every game is compatible with a controller and even emulation software doesn't do a good job at getting controllers to work. Also what is the definition of max on PC games? I keep hearing everyone said they run games on max but what does that really mean.
I'm not saying its popular but it does combine the advantages of the two.
What about the ps move for fps. It has analog control for movement and a pointer for aiming. Also you have an advantage of shooting multiple people in your view without having to rotate your character to be centered with them. On killzone 3 I could shoot someone from the left or right without changing the direction I was facing.
I seen someone get top three on pc's bf3 using a controller so I have to disagree with that.
I used to feel that way but recently I have changed on that front because by downloading content on psn I can share it with my brothers. When I visit them they will have the game as well but this is only for games I really care for.
I believe he saying that he can't even download steam so there is no way to used the offline mode. Some games even if you have the disc still need to be downloaded. Had this issue with tera and supreme commander 2.
If this is aimed at console owners then the greatest barrier would be the controls. Even with the steam big picture mode not every game is compatible with a controller so that would need to be addressed first I think.
What makes you think split screen is guaranteed?
One thing that is not discuss is if this is going to be a console like device will it be able to use disc format, meaning will you be able to purchase it without an internet connection and if not will the people who buy it know that. Plus will it have any split screen support for people who want to play together at home.
After watching the video at the end of the article the multiplayer mode that they were showing reminds me of mass effect 3 mp.

No a good majority of the major reviewers do this. They will and often mark down games because of it similar formula to the previous one which is a standard that they don't hold cod too.
You can't complain about things never changing and then a high five to the game that never changes, be consistent. Is cod a bad game, no but at least hold it to the same standard as any other game.
You missed the fact that most reviewers will mark down games for not changing much, but relax that standard when it comes to cod and that is where the problem begins.
The inconsistency is really what drives a lot of the rage. Reviewers seem to hold cod to a lower standard then any other game in that genre.
Or they could have done the sony model and have an internal slot so we could use a laptop base hdd which would be faster then the current external solution.
People pay for xbox live because if they didn't they wouldn't being able to play any game with online multiplayer. Remove that requirement from live and see how many pay for it then.

Nothing wrong with that. You should rent it first though. Just rented MoH:Warfighter which was a good thing that I did. Avoided dropping 60 bucks on a bad game.
Too bad that not the case for a lot of people who still can't play with any great amount of time. Like me who can never finish a city because I keep getting disconnected from a sever and have to join another just to play again.
