The X360 has 2 big games for the rest of the year: Halo Reach and Fable 3.
The PS3 has 2 big games for the rest of the year: GT5 and LBP2.

Yes UK. Japan was the 2nd biggest market in the world, but the UK surpassed Japan in 2009. There were articles in N4G pointing that out. You can look for them. UK is the 2nd biggest gaming market in the world.

Not taking in to account Canada, the USA is the biggest consumer market of gaming in the world. I would say that the USA is probably responsible for 40-50% of the consumer market in gaming of the world.

If it's a 3/5... that's a 6/10.
If it's a 4/5... that's a 8/10.
If it's a 5/5... that's a 10/10.
The gaps between ratings are way to big. They seriously need to improve their rating system.

So what if the reviewer gives a game a 3/5, witch means it's a Mediocre game... but someone looking at the score can assume something between a 5/10 and a 7/1...

Honestly... Sony has being cutting more corners (features) from the PS3, then Microsoft has been cutting from the X360.
Compare the x360 sku at launch and the x360 sku selling now, and compare the ps3 sku at launch and the ps3 sku selling now.

To American/European game developers... Japan means nothing. American/European games don't sell in Japan.
To Japanese game developers... Japan means a lot. Most sales are from Japan but there are still some Japanese games that sell in Europe and USA.
Not surprising. Sony always likes bashing the competition with their comercials. The Wii is so far ahead that Nintendo does not give a crap to way Sony has to say.
It's good that the PS3 is selling well in Japan... but unfortunately it does not matter to western software developers. Japanese hardly buy games from western developers. They don't buy games like Call of duty's, halo's, killzone's, ratchet's, resistence's, fallout's, gta's, red dead redemptions, fable's, gears, god of war, etc...etc...etc.
Japanese basically buy crappie games made buy Japanese developers. PS3 need to sell more consoles...
