There was no price drop. It's quite simply a different X1 SKU without Kinect at $399. X1 with Kinect is still $499. I don't understand why people insist it's a price drop.
As for a Kinectless X1 at $399, it's to expensive. They should have released the Kinectless X1 at most $349 (or take a hit and release it at $299).
Microsoft has to do the same thing Sony did last gen with the PS3. Take a hit and sell the X1 at a cheaper price if they want to win bac...

Just like most (or almost all) of PS4's "exclusive" indies and F2P games are on the PC.
... and two of the biggest PS4 "exclusives" for this year, TLOU and LBP3, are (or will be) on the PS3.
I think both Microsoft and Sony have a solid line-up for 2014 (slight edge to Microsoft), but fanboys should be careful in what they claim to be their console of choice exclusive. To be a exclusive, it means it can only be played on one gaming platform.
I'm surprised Activision and Sony signed for a full year of timed exclusive content. That's quite a long time for timed exclusive content. Microsoft must not be happy... imagine if they go for a full year on timed exclusive content for COD?

If PS Now is not offered for free with PS+, then I'm not interested in PS Now, no matter what price it is. And that's that.

The $499 price tag for the X1 was such a huge mistake by Microsoft, that gave a year head start to Sony. Now everybody's friend has a PS4 and it's going to be hard for Microsoft to come out of that. That initial mistake is going to cost them dearly.
$399 for the Kinectless X1 is a smaller mistake, but still a mistake by Microsoft. They should have gone at most for the Kinectless X1 $349 (or even at $300 to try to outsell Sony's PS4).

Microsoft are too dumb to purchase Crytek & Capcom (or too smart depending on your point of view).
For Xbox fans it would be good business to have exclusives from Crytek/Capcom, and it would sell more consoles, specially in Japan (Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, etc) ... but financially it remains to be seen if it would be good business for Microsoft.

Because it was too expensive, and even with the price drop, it's still too expensive. This game is a year old.

I don't have a X1, but at this moment the X1 has better games then the PS4... if you are not interested in games, then congrats for your victory.

I have a PS4 and don't have a X1, but I've got to disagree with you. Playstation fanboys are the worst ever. Just take a impartial look to what's been happening in N4G (and many other gaming sites) the last few years. I'm not saying there aren't moron Xbox fanboys, but Playstation fanboys, there are quite a few blind nutcases.

I agree. There a few good indie games, but Indies are secondary. Sony give me more AAA/AA games... please :)
