Wow... that is impressive.
Nothing original... why all the excitement?
- PSNow, copy of OnLive.
- VR gaming, copy of Oculus Rift, among other VR devices.
- original TV content for a console, Microsoft had already announced exclusive TV content for the X1, Halo TV show and Quantum Break TV show.
Fanboys get exited with anything that's announced by Sony.
Hummm, maybe... but nobody looks creepier then Mark Cerny. That guy looks weird.
@styferion
Same can be said about Sony's 3rd party exclusives. 3rd party would eventually come out on PS4, so if sony didn't buy 3rd party exclusives, they could instead use that money to fund another game.
What you fail to realize is that every company buys 3rd party exclusives... Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.
All these comments just prove one thing. Fanboys understand absolutely nothing how a business works.
I'm purchasing a PS4 this week (or next week) for Infamous and the X1 is being released on my country in September. Common Microsoft, make a Kinectless X1 happen! I want to purchase a Kinectless X1 in September.
Player the first game a few hours... game isn’t for me. Didn't like it. Found the gameplay cranky as hell.
I'm a gamer with simple tastes. For me it's just, controller (or KB/Mouse), consoles (or PC) and TV... and that's it.
All these gadgets do nothing for me: Virtual Reality Headset, Kinect, Wii, etc... Mehhhh.
@Kingthrash360
Grow up!
For people that are really interested in indies, there is no better place then the PC.
The problem is, if Microsoft insists with this Kinect nonsense, the X1 will always be more expensive then the PS4... and that way they are screwed.
"I'm still betting a price drop is coming there"
Agree. I suspect big price drop at the time to release on those markets (or a cheaper Kinectless X1) and a few JRPG's exclusives for the Japanese market (all E3 announcements).
The big question ... is it worth the price?
A lot of reviews are saying NO. So it's probably best to get the game/demo/prologue 2nd hand or when it's much cheaper. Or better yet, try to loan it. If people start supporting these types of games/demos/prologues with these high prices... other companies are going to follow this model in the future.
I'm already fed up with all the alpha/beta/greenlight (incomplete) games we get on Steam... and now this...
Microsoft has to prove that the X1 with Kinect is worth the extra price... until now Kinect is worthless.
It's the exclusives that make a console... and not the GPU.
The PS2 was much weaker then the original Xbox... but sold so much more.
These 3 teams are the favourites to win the world cup: Spain, Germany or Brazil.
"Xbox One Kinect irrelevant to core gamers at present, says Kinect Sports dev"
Not only core gamers, Kinect is irrelevant to nearly everyone.
Kinect is a addon hardly anybody wants, that's pushing X1's price way up.
"$350 without Kinect would be reasonable."
I agree. Microsoft needs a Kinectless X1 cheaper then the PS4, if they want to compete with Sony.
More power is an advantage, but it's not the main advantage to sell a console. The PS2 was much weaker then the original Xbox, but sold way more.
In present time the PS4 has an advantage over the X1 mainly due to 3 points:
- first party exclusive games
- PSN+ with it's offerings
- cheaper console
If Microsoft improved those 3 points, maybe (big maybe) it could approach the PS4 in world sales.
In all honesty I didn't think the X1 would be so close to PS4 numbers this month.
Good numbers for both Sony and Microsoft.
Mixed reviews... but still getting the game.
