Oh come on. Valve! They don't make games anymore. But Valve definitely are right up there in comparison. Half Life 2 is still better than most shooters out there; 12 f#$$ing years after release!
WOOOTTTT!!!!! Can't wait
Why do i feel that this is all a build up to create false hype for The Phantom Pain DLC(with Kojima as the hero instead of snake)
Steamspy shows that it has sold almost 2.4 million copies on steam, so add that to the total sales. The PC version is selling like hotcakes
1.2 million Day 1 is a great number. I guess both the ps4 and xbox one versions must have sold as much individually. We're probably looking at 4 million copies sold on launch day, which is nothing short of a dream start, especially for a game which was released with THIS MANY BUGS
No one would be dissing Cheat CC had they given it a 5/5. Its only when a site gives your most anticipated game an average score that you begin to hate it. Ironically, the same thing happened to me when Destructoid gave The Witcher 2 a 6/10. Seriously, screw those guys
These are just numbers for Galaxy activations. It does not account for the number of copies bought directly from GOG. Add the Steam numbers (around 700k according to SteamSpy), and the game has probably sold upwards of 2 million on PC
Every year always has GOTY candidates, irrespective of how many good games release in that particular year. Post title is fail
I hope they Hitman Beta pretty soon
And these are just steam numbers
You people do realize that in terms of profit, that 1.3 million number sold on PC is far more relevant, since they will have no royalty to pay to Microsoft or Sony, right?
The problem is not that PC versions should have better graphics. The problem here is that when you demo a product, the final version should at least match the demo in terms of quality, if not exceed it. If they had to downgrade cause of performance, they shouldn't have shown that level of quality in the first place.
On a different note, if they had the PC version running with those graphics, not many people would have been able to get it looking like that, and you would see many p...
Had Alien Isolation not come out this year, i would have agreed with what you said
I guess the only unfair review they gave recently was for Alien Isolation. That game is easily an 8 IMO
Glad to see its getting all the attention that it deserves. The only game i can recall that has this level of tension is F.E.A.R. It should have gotten better reviews than it has got. After playing this game i realized that reviews have gotten very shitty lately
Dark Souls and Portal definitely deserve to be there. They changed gaming for me. In terms of impact and revolutionizing gaming, they're not many games better than those two
I really hope its lengthy
who the hell cares?? We all just want one game from you valve, but i guess that's too much to ask for huh
By this generation, i'm guessing you mean the Ps3, 360 and PC. In that scenario, there are plenty of games that can claim that award - Portal 1/2, Far Cry 3, Witcher 2, Skyrim(PC Version), Uncharted 2, Borderlands 2, Mass Effect 2 etc etc.
If i had to choose, i would either give it to Dark Souls 2, or Red Dead Redemption. Heck, even Xcom- Enemy Unknown was a bloody good game. The Last of Us deserves an honourable mention here, but i do not think it is the best 'GAME' of th...
Disagrees, but no proper counter opinion :( But yes as a supporting argument, Half Life, Half Life 2, the episodes, Left for Dead 1 and 2, Counter Strike 1 + Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2, and both the Portal games. How many more classics do i need to mention to get a proper counter argument :P
