I've never played EVE but I've heard some crazy stories. Now that its free to play I will have to give it a shot!
I always wanted to give that game a try! I really enjoy Dragon Quest so I'm sure it would be loads of fun knowing it has fun sword play!
I completely agree! That was one of the best mechanics. The story is definitely among my favorites in any video game!
I understand your feelings, it wasn't perfect by any means. I do feel, however, that when it comes to motion control, Skyward Sword did it with the most dedication.
I would love to make it to EVO. I recently attended the Red Bull Proving Grounds Finals in Santa Monica, it was an incredible experience meeting the players.
It's tough when developers have been deciding to create cheap mobile games instead of worthy movie tie-ins. Wolverine Origins was great and of course so was Spider-Man 2. I remember playing Sorcerer's Stone when I was young and really appreciating the charm the game had. Movie release schedules and game release schedules just don't mix, unfortunately. It takes much longer to make a quality game than it does to make a proper film, even with top notch special effects.
eSports aside, Street Fighter V is probably one of the biggest disappointments I have had in recent gaming history. It is still an incomplete game even after all of the updates. Street Fighter is still my favorite fighting franchise, but it really dropped the ball this go around. Tekken 7 looks to be providing a wealth of content for players right out the gate. It'll certainly find popularity within the competitive community whenever it releases on consoles. It also isn't an exclusive...
These wars do deserve more detail then they usually get within video games. The First World War was incredibly intricate and the first large scale war with modern weapons. It's great to see Battlefield 1 take the more informed approach to game design and story telling.
Co-op campaigns are one of my favorite features. It is good to see they are still adding a co-op feature, even though it's not the main campaign. That being said, it's a shame to see traditional co-op being tossed aside. I used to need 4 controllers for every console to make sure everyone could play together, nowadays you really don't need more than two.
DARQ looks like a lot of fun! A great game to play with headphones, in the dark, and fully immersed! I am really glad to see this fresh take on gameplay, instead of being another FPS or platformer, like Marhulets stated.
It's interesting to see them tackle a Marvel project after Batman. Not quite as crazy as Lego Marvel Super Heroes, since TT Games is owned by Warner Bros, but interesting nonetheless! I think it's a great fit for the developer, I just hope it also has a rocking soundtrack!
This looks like a rather enjoyable open world experience! I really enjoyed the review and found it to be a really informative. I really like the change of protagonist, I feel like the whole game overall will be much more entertaining with Marcus in the spotlight.
I've never got too into Watchdogs but this form of marketing does appear interesting if that is what it ends up being. There certainly have been times where other developers have left clues of future franchises in the past. In Halo 3: ODST you can find easter eggs foreshadowing Bungie's future franchise, Destiny.
I feel that it's a little early to be pushing the 4K aspect of gaming. The market doesn't seem as saturated as it needs to be. I honestly would rather companies focus on stabilizing what they already have. Consoles aren't meant to keep up with PCs in this way. It's hard for me to justify a $400 purchase just to have higher resolutions and faster frame rates on top of purchasing an Ultra 4K HDR television.
It's really interesting to see a Bethesda game receive such a rough PC version. They usually focus most of their attention on PC with consoles as their secondary focus. I will never forget how rough Skyrim was on PS3 for the first few months.
That's incredible! The Dreamcast really doesn't get enough credit, it really was ahead of its time!
I agree! I never knew how powerful it was until I read the breakdown of Wind Waker. I linked it in the article! http://polycount.com/discus...
I've only recently got to experience FFX! My first Final Fantasy game was Dirge of Cerberus because I was really interested in VII because of Kingdom Hearts but at the time, it was incredibly hard to find. After that, I really wanted to play X but could only find X-2. Now that I've got the remaster on PS4 I'm really excited to finish it! Plus there's word of a FFX-3 in the works! So I'm pretty pumped!
My family originally got the PS2 because of its DVD capabilities. I played mostly RPGs on my PS2. I later received the GameCube bundle that included The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition as well! Until the 3DS remakes, that was my favorite way to play those titles! I never got an original Xbox even though I loved Halo. I would always play it at a friend's house. After writing this article I really want an original Xbox and a Dreamcast! We may be seeing original Xbox titles on the X...
Competitive multiplayer for single-player RPGs is an interesting concept. If the mode is fun and properly balanced then I'm all for good change!
