Gabe's point isn't that they'll sell more Steamboxes than Xboxes.
But that the next gen install base does not really concern Valve, given their strong not-Steambox market.
The other point is that for console manufacturers, next gen means starting again. While Steam just continues to grow.
With all the next gen hysteria, those are points with making.
These are active accounts, this has previously been stated to mean accounts which have logged in during the previous month and own at least one game. I'm not sure if the definition has changed given the dominance of free to play.
So if you're banned from cheating (which is rare), you're unlikely to log in with that account. I doubt those multiple account logins surpass those of offline mode users who didn't log in at all.
Note that the 65 mi...
Dude, if the last PC game you bought was in 2009, you're missing out.
The Steam Snowglobe badge was a form of gambling. I didn't pay for any of my cards, just voted in the steam sale. But I could have sold the lot of them for just over $1.
I chose to craft the card for the chance of a rare item instead.
I lost, got some common War Thunder item worth $0.05.
Lots of gamers are wasting money.
Would you like to spend x hundred dollars for a box with very few games and pay for online? Yes please!
What a coincidence, the NSA recommends you leave your Xbox One on standby.
Merry Christmas from Sony, now go and buy GT6. I'm sure this will never happen with PlayStation 4's mandatory pay for online.
How many millions did Gran Turismo sell? How much profit did they make? And they won't even keep the servers running.
They got Tomb Raider. They should be pleased.
Sony and Microsoft will join in the sales bandwagon, but they can't do it as seriously as Steam, yet.
Right now, the console manufacturers have to keep friendly with retailers in order to sell their consoles. When there's a decent install base and back catalog, I think we'll see a lot more digital sales on their respective platforms.
There are more features, better features, for free.
If you choose to spend money, $5/month would get you a decent library through bundles.
I wonder if this will see a next gen port too, they've already done the work by porting it to PC.
Might be a tie in to promote MGS 5.
It's drowned out by the mainstream in the that the Vita is not a mainstream console.
A lot? really? You do understand that I'm commenting from a PC right.
I am missing out on lococycle though.
Spending hundreds of dollars on a machine with no games of worth but plenty of microtransaction opportunities?
Of course the story line to Call of Duty is ridiculous and disturbing, it's built to appeal to lowest common denominator meat head frat fucks.
I'd say Clancy games are more worrying, in that the tone is more serious, and people confuse that with being realistic.
I thought Papers, Please would get it.
Good selection of nominees though, even though there was no standout like previous years.
Unanimous disagrees, it's like n4g prefers shit interfaces.
This is still terrible.
Steam's big picture daisy-wheel is both quicker and results in fewer mistakes.

Sony did touch pad analogs with the Xperia Play in 2011.
People skeptical over whether it'll work (and I've seen a lot of ill informed idiocy over streaming on N4G) should try out some of the demos on OnLive.
