Like I said all along in my other posts, if MS build reliable, consistent product with the same level of support, there is no reason that the Asian population wouldn't buy their consoles. MS isn't catering to the needs of the Asian markets.

don't mind MS trying..... as long as it means competitive prices for us consumers.

White looks good for the PS3 but I'd take my black 60 gig backward-compatibility PS3 over the new white 40 gig version any day.....

I agree with you to a certain extent. The Japanese are very loyal to their brands. Of course they're not going to ache for everything Western. If I asked you to eat rice everyday for every meal from this day on, you won't be aching for that either... right? They're Asian!!! Now think about asking them to eat bread at every meal for the rest of their lifes.....
What I'm saying is that American companies aren't catering to what the Japanese wants in their ga...

um.... have you been to Japan? "They have these crazy pre-set notions that the western society can't offer them much" ????
Have you notice how they gobble up "LEVI's" jeans or embracing the hip-hop culture??? C'mon..... at least know what you're talking about? Yeah, Japanese are loyal to Sony and Nintendo.... but if MS is consistent in putting out a product that doesn't fail, Asians will buy it. You've got to first put a product out there that doesn't break dow...

WTF?? They sensored the game for this?? We've seen horror movies that are rated PG13 more violent than this...... LOL

I have to say, that's a pretty sweet commercial. I like how at the end it says "only for $399"..... LOL

The Japanese are saying the same thing about not living in America.... LOL

What your point? It's kinda funny how now Toyota and Nissan are overtaking GMC and Ford as the leading auto company in the world after the US help Japan out, huh? That's not the point. I bet you haven't read about how Dymer-Chrysler brought the quality of the auto dept. for Mitsubishi and Mercedes down from their quality of work the last 5-10 years huh? Not to mention how Ford completely screwed the Astor-Martin and Jaguar auto companies, huh?
My point is, ...

I agree. Japanese are loyal to brands that are consistent. To me, MS just hasn't been consistent. That's why the majority of the Japanese society uses Apple instead of MS Windows. Apple is consistent with their platform while MS's isn't. They want something that works out of the box because they don't want to mess with tweaking the software. This is what happens when you don't have a good product.

I agree with most of you post except:

"With Nintendo and Sony around, the Japanese aren't looking to invest in another console market...especially an American one"

I'm not sure if the Japanese will exclude the 360 just because it's an "American" brand. In fact, they embrace the American culture in Japan like no other country....... I tend to think that more people here in the states have a problem with "Japanese" brands than the Ja...

I tend to agree with what you're saying. I was in Japan/Hong Kong/Taiwan about 4 months back. I was searching for some good electronic deals in the region during my vacation there.
Seriously, Sony and Nintendo dominates the ads and commercials everywhere I look. When Asians (me included) look at the brand Microsoft, I think of PCs, not consoles. What do you think of when you see Sony and Nintendo? Exactly. There is competition already between Sony and Nintendo for the consoles in...

I agree. My point of my post was that, unless PS3 hits a lower price point that's on par with the Wii, it'll outsell PS3 for the near future. Eco-101.
My point is that because the PS3 and 360 has dropped it's price twice within the last year on their current gen. consoles, I kinda feel that the Nintendo supporters are being duped for an inferior product. Especially when the PS2 is selling only at $129 US with essentially the same technology. Face it, the Wii is a last gen. product ...

ok ok ok PimpHandDaddy:

By your argument, since the Wii isn't next gen, I can say neither is the PS2. Yet, the PS2 is selling for $129 US (with the prospect of $99 after x-mas). How do you explain that? It's essentially the same technology w/ it's DVD ROM and processor power.
My point on my previous post is that because 360 and PS3 has dropped in prices "TWICE" already on their current console, I don't see why the Wii supporters aren't in their battle-gear m...

complaining??? Now that both consoles are dropping their prices, we the consumer get the best price available. If PS3 aren't selling well, than Microsoft will take longer to lower their 360 and vice-versa. Until PS3 drops down to the Wii's retail price, the Wii will sell more. The truth of the matter is that both 360 and PS3 has now dropped in price. The BIG questions for the Wii supporter is why haven't Nintendo drop its prices yet? I would be up-in-arms complaining to Nintendo about t...

I agree with part of what you're saying. But because the PS2 has sold over 100 million consoles, if people want to play PS1 or 2 games, they'll be playing on the 100 million-plus consoles that were sold. If it really bothers a PS3 owner that much about a BC with PS3, than just buy the 60 gig version as I did. Plus I'm pretty sure that most of the orginal PS1 or PS2 games will be available to download on-line through Sony sooner rather than later.
