I don't want to live in a society based on fear. This is actually a dangerous precedent because it shows that we are willing to give in to terrorists.
@creatchee
Many of these channels are very well done and provide decent content at the expense of their time and equipment. Granted, it's relatively cheap to find ways to record PC games on a computer, but recording PS3 or XBOX 360? You need video capture cards, HD-PVRs, or some other solution so they need to recoup some of that cost. There's time that goes into managing channels, editing, and encoding every video.
No matter how you spin it it still takes time...
Yeah... that the maintenance will last for 8 hours.
While I agree that nerfing missions is turning me off from enjoying the game more, this article is confusing. First, we've never had heists to begin with. Patch 1.06 sucks because they still haven't introduced them, yet, and it looks like we'll never get them.
Second, saying that a patch sucks because of clothing options is pretty extreme. I would say that the clothing options don't add much to the patch, but the patch doesn't suck because of that.

"Tired ten-year-old jokes and frat-humour, weary misogyny, resolutely miserable society"
I don't understand how this should be a slight to the game. Obviously Rockstar painted us their vision of San Andreas' world and this is what they wanted. Not everyone is going to like the themes, the humor, the "misogyny," etc. but you can't really take anything away from the game if it was meant to be that way.
Not everyone will like the ...
@xPhearR3dx
If this weren't true, Rockstar would probably have come out and denied it already. I'm sure they are already aware of the press they are getting regarding microtransactions. It seems like it would be in their best interest to come out and deny it already since we are less than a week away before online launches if it weren't true.
The sad thing is that people will "buy" into this idea and they'll make millions more. Gone ...
With this mindset, why just focus on GTA V? Why not question movies like Goodfellas, Natural Born Killers, Pulp Fiction, etc.? The only reason this article is publishing this is for hits due to GTA V's popularity right now.
Games are meant as entertainment. I find it entertaining to do WHATEVER I want and to engage in a storyline that could be considered "offensive." I do not find it entertaining to play Barbie Dreamhouse Party.
If you can't...
You can't compare 1 horsepower to 450 horsepower.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. So you're saying that everything else fails except CoD and BF? Why don't we go ahead and close every studio except those related to Activision and EA then, since obviously they're not making any money?
I think you need to put things a little more in perspective. I thought the same thing until I realized that there are tiny little side streets in between the main roads. If you think of a car that is to scale driving on those side streets it really shows you how big the map is.
Also, don't forget the smaller towns that are north of Los Santos and the explorable sea areas.
"I’m not a game developer so I don’t know how it’s so expensive to make a video game. Surely it’s just a bunch of people working on a computer right? Well GTA V’s rumoured budget is an eye-watering $137 million."
Most people don't factor labor when thinking about the cost to make/produce things. If you assume GTA V was put into production immediately after GTA IV and assume 200 people worked on GTA V (150 people worked on GTA IV) at an average salary of $60,000/...
I'd give them the benefit of the doubt if they released a beta of online play. If they just launch it out of the blue without allowing the public to test it, expect it to launch two weeks later, then maybe a week or two of actually stabilizing the servers. How many online games play perfectly the first day of launch??
"Friendly Neighbors: The streets are alive with all kinds of characters who coordinate clothing colors and enjoy leisurely pursuits such as territory clashes and pharmaceutical commerce. Stop and chat with a member of The Epsilon Program for some enlightenment, or head to Blaine County, where they always extend a helping hand to outsiders."
Gotta love R*'s humor.
Physics definitely. I can spend hours beating a game, but I'd also like to spend hours shooting windows and blowing up cars just to see what happens.
So to make money you eliminate entire markets that do not have reliable internet and alienate most of the world? Makes sense...
Great catch. You're actually right. +1 bubble.
The number of racers per match was never stated by the developer, just the number of people in each CLUB.
Wrong choice of words. Stimulation might be enticing, but electrocution? I think I'll pass.
I agree. It doesn't make sense that you still pay full price online when there is no middle-man involved. I'd rather pay $60 for a retail game I can resell rather than a $60 digital game that I'm forever stuck with.
I would never buy a Wii because I prefer hardcore gaming with superior hardware in PS/Xbox. I haven't owned a Nintendo since the N64 days.
That being said, I would almost certainly play/buy Mario games on the PS4. It's a classic franchise that has infinite charm and Nintendo is damn good at developing software. Think of Zelda, Mario, Star Fox, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart on next gen systems... they'd sell like hot cakes.
I don't ever see ...
@ABizzel1
Preach. It's time we vote with our wallets. Unfortunately, gamers in this day and age are beginning to accept that DLC is inevitable and shell out their money anyway. But if we become more resolute in our stance against DLC, especially DLC that provides little content at absurd prices, we can hopefully alter the way these companies do business in the future.
Remember how X1 changed? The gamers spoke and X1 tabled a lot of their initial ideas. We...
