In the long term, Blu-ray (nor HD DVD) will not matter.
UHDV (Ultra Hi-Def Video) is coming to consumers in 8-12 years, and even Blu-ray does not have enough space to hold a 2-hour UHDV movie. 18 minutes of UHDV requires approximately 3.5 terabytes (TB) of space.

You bloody people don't even check the news to make sure it's not a duplicate before approving it. You're just way too anxious to approve it because it's a negative news for Xbox 360. This got approved so bloody fast by the same bunch of fanboys (Rowland, drtysouf21, MaximusPrime, xbox360jimmy07, bebo) that they did not even give anyone the time to look for the duplicate.
the last time I sold something on eBay, it took me over two hours just to list, sell, answer emails, transfer payment, package, drive to the post office, and deliver about 3-4 items. That's $30-$40 profit if you sell those Blu-ray movies. All those troubles took me more than two hours.
If you're smart, you'd be able to earn way more than that in 2 hours.
if you want any 8 of those movies, and there are some good titles in there. 8 blu-ray movies cost over $200.
Effectively, the PS3 costs less than $300 in this deal (if you want any 8 blu-ray titles from the selection.)

I've just looked at the chart. The red line (PS3) and green line (Xbox 360) overlap -- almost exactly.
But look at the blue line. Wii will be literally "off the chart" very soon.
BTW, that's the *North American* figures. If you go to VGChartz.com and graph only the American figures, *it looks exactly like this chart.*
Xbox 360 has the US.
Wii has Japan and everywhere else.
PS3 does not really have Japan and EU... because Wii has it.
PS3 sales started to drop off (relative to Xbox 360 sales) at month 5 after launch... and have stayed below Xbox 360 ever since...
