The problem there is a demo can be a vertical slice cut out of the game and made to be super polished and not an accurate representation of the full game.
You don't think there are systems in place to catch abusers. These companies didn't become mega corporations by being stupid and getting swindled. I know of plenty of retail stores that keep track of these things and will deny people future services for abusing them.
