Agreed, it does. Just a straight remake of the first game, and then go from there.
GTA V has mass appeal. Gun car shoot shoot drive drive boom, cool, explosions, bang bang, sex, big world wow. Simple stuff for simple people, and most people are simple. It's just a series that panders to the lowest common denominator, in other words.
If these games were food, GTA would be McDonald's and Final Fantasy would be a gourmet restaurant. Deal with it.
Maybe that is because Mario is the most iconic video game character and one of the most successful? Compare it to CoD or Halo while you are at it lol. It's a JRPG, man. Relatively speaking, it's a fantastic number and will only grow once it hits PS4 (the port).
The only thing wrong with Vanille is she wasn't sexualized enough. She is a drab, boring character as shallow and pointless as she is annoying. Her only value was being eye candy and they didn't even do that right.

No but they're forcing innovation. A lot of these AAA piles are either boring or broken, often both, and that's pathetic. I ain't looking forward to new CoDs and ACs, instead looking forward to the likes of Collectems. There's more innovations in that mature Pokemon clone with GB graphics than even Ppkemon itself. What did it add in this latest generation? The biggest thing is Fairy type and Mega Evolution, a single bland type and a glorified Item.
