I think you broke seeing all those 9/10 and 10/10 reviews.

If you're trying to measure the quality of a game by it's quantity, then that's an issue that is detrimental to the industry. You're the reason shallow grindy games like Wildlands and Sea of Thieves exist.

You should look at yourself in the mirror and think of what you said and reverse the negativity. When you have "console exclusives" like Quantum Break and Recore set th...

"Sony is great but I wonder about the future."

It's called a PlayStation 5 which will have better specs. When people said that about the PS3, the PS4 came out to pick up the pace they once had with PS2 and PS1.

GOTY quality exclusives and new risk-taking IPs are already a given. What else do you want in a gaming console? Automatically make you a cup of coffee as an attached service that you pay 50 cents a cup for?

Focus on...

"We are continuing to look at engagement as our key metric for success and are no longer reporting on total console sales,"

Gotta keep the illusion up, but trust that if Xbox One sold well, even for one month of the 12, they'll share that they're the "best selling console of the summer" or whatever bull that the Xbox die hards keep falling for.

Remember, if you do not learn history, you are doomed to repeat it. So I expect no r...

Mass Effect also came out on PS3 and a majority of those IPs were left behind a very long time ago.

Xbox has so few "main line" franchises or IPs that have that power to bring a successful sequel while PlayStation is building and growing like recent God of War and soon Last of Us 2. Even expect that Spiderman game to have a trilogy.

That's why PS4 is selling like hot cakes consistently because gamers know they're getting hardware that is...

Their mission is to profit the most out of one single individual person over many.

You pump out services and microtransactions. Soon, you'll see it become multi tiered. They'll maybe even help you rent out DLCs in the future for a higher premium.

What do exclusives need to become successful? A large amount of consoles sold so they're opting in on stacking multiple layers of money with the lowest number ratio aka the least people.

@FiveBy

Netflix is already doing Basic, Standard, and Premium so you're not far off.

Too many services being subscribed at one time at increased prices, all adds up. Better off purchasing games individually that I want off of sales like from Steam. Even at 300+ games in my library, barely have time for more than 2 or 3 a week. Learned that the hard way over time.

Having read the article, there's a huge emphasis on films.

Even mentions Iron Man 2.

And truth be told, the industry hasn't finished dishing out garbage liscensed games. There will always be the occassional good and bad liscensed game so in other words, the state of "gold age" has started a long time ago, especially with mention of the Arkham series.

@Obscure

If Gears 4 was of any indication, don't think even us PC gamers are interested in buying anything from the W10 store.

Why do you think Quantum Break eventually got put on Steam?

Regardless, another Halo and Forza re-enforces a lack of vision. It's gonna be 2 decades dancing to the same flute? Meh.

It's like opening a bag of Skittles and getting only 1 flavor or opening a pack of cards and getting...

"WORLD PREMIERE"
"CONSOLE LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE"

Oh yea, I still remember those True 4k like marketing terms.

Seems like Phil has been struggling to come up with other magical tingly words to make up for the blackvoid in between anything actually notable.

I expect more from MS than 2017 but I also expect Sony and Nintendo to steal the show once again.

Shadows affect CPU and GPU so for a game like Outlast that uses a lot of lighting, I can see why. Also, shadows need anti aliasing to match the anti aliasing of the object and for a game like this, the developers are aiming more towards immersion.

The reason why I haven't purchased Gears of War 4 which currently sits at 2.8 out of 5 stars.

No mod support and the important no Steam integration to invite friends and see who owns the game kills it.

Also Phil Spencer is stating this in reaction to removing Halo Online. They saw that Halo Online brought in a lot of gamers so they see money to be made. I played a bit before it got taken down and it was a good experience so I do hope MCC does come to ...

Logically, can't be far behind if the technology is ahead. Also, while PC is running some PS3 games at stable frame rates, PS4 doesn't have real PS3 emulation, to begin with, due to the complexity of the Cell processor.

Regardless, PS4's strongest suit is the consistent high budget exclusives and hackerless multiplayer while PC offers much, much more options.

Only people who disagree can't see from both perspectives.

Was going to get an Nvidia card next, but this made my decision easier. Gonna hold onto my MSI RX 480 till Vega AIBs come out at MSRP or till Navi comes out.

MGS 4 was incredible from beginning to end and it was written well and what made it more epic was how every intense fight always felt like it was going to be Snake's last.

MGS5, man, it's good, but the story was dry and set you up from disappointment to disappointment. Repeating missions, just harder versions, it had too much filler. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the combat, but it felt like in between those segments, it wasn't pieced togethered properly. I ...

Everything takes time, but it takes more when you mismanage and fail to optimize.

"We can have similar results to what we've seen in hw and platform"

He's blatantly saying that they can, but they haven't even started doing it yet which is a shame for those who waited for the Xbox One X and have to wait for more, or may I say more E3s, the true long running joke.
