This is good old paid advertisement in the form of an opinion.
It's eliminating the capacity to play used games the important factor. It would mean that someone would be paying more for games in the long run.
I believe there will be different SKUs ranging from $400 to $500, something similar to the PS3 hard drive size.
Considering how successful $400 was for Sony, I highly doubt they will steer away from learned lessons.
I'm thinking, $400 for the HDD model and $500 for the SSD model. And you can swap them out for higher capacity.
I would be impressed if the PS5 has 2 slots, one for SSD and one HDD. Imagine buying the SSD version and jus...
LOL I have this feeling like you have no money or debit card to purchase anything in those Steam Sales that hit up to 90% off so free is better than nothing.
According to Steam Calculator, my account is worth almost 4 times more than what I have paid due to sales. https://steamdb.info/calcul...
But hey, I guess 1 free game a month just trounces on that pro-consumer bene...
Epic higher-ups were recently using Twitch viewers as a metric for success.
Then, the following day, it was reported that 90% of Epic Store exclusive, World War Z's viewer count has dropped.
Sales must be horrendus and worse than they tell you. It's like the time Microsoft reported bullets shot and zombies killed as a metric of success.
Guy, I don't think you know what a monopoly is including those who agreed with you.
Valve never forced any market that sells keys to only sell Steam keys. for example.
Your anger is misdirected. It should be aimed at the anti-consumerism of purchasing exclusivity rights to games that were announced on one platform and then switched in the last second which in effect also took marketing space.
Not only that, but making people in the ...
@Vasto
LOL That's what "they" always ask, don't they.
All I would need to do is buy the parts needed, which would only be the GPU and possibly the Power Supply and sell the old ones. Do you really think a PC gamer needs to upgrade every part every generation? 1 high tier GPU counts as 2 console generations, but what do you really know about PC gaming anyway. You probably own a laptop or some office desktop and think you know everything P...
@porkandshakes
You're talking about services that you have not witnessed yet, you clown.
PSNow is present and people who pay for it enjoy it.
What's fact is that you, like many who cheer for Microsoft, believe everything that is said on a sheet of paper from the PR department and don't see reality.
Cloud was gonna be a game changer? I'm still waiting. You know what? I'm not waiting, I have a PC wit...
@Vasto
Another E3? Even if Sony ain't there, they still lose. LOL
And I'm a PC gamer firstmost and even to us, we just watch it for the new 3rd party games, everything else is extra.
@ludicrous
PS Now: 12 month subscription - $99.99
GamePass: 12 month subscription - $99.99
Double price huh...I don't see the difference. Maybe because my math is on point or you just aren't making any or...
The number of "inappropriate" comments in that N4G article post shows how sensitive certain people are to the truth.
But you're right and here we are again with people under your comment spreading misinformation or in denial.
Must be fun and not immersion breaking being interrupted every 10min by an ad...
This is one of those, you have to wait, see, and try it yourself scenarios, in other words, this opinion piece's title comes from someone who hasn't acknowledged reality for everybody else. Maybe he has a silver spoon so far his canal that he has enough money to have limitless bandwidth and has had it since childhood.
Well, not everyone who has a console has that kind...
MS also said that cloud computing will boost a game with the power of 12 Xbox Ones or whatever...
Still haven't seen that yet realistically... Hmm...
I'm just gonna do what the intelligent person does and wait before being all hyped from what's being read on paper from the PR department.
Worded different, it could be 10ms lowest, 50ms average. Look at a performance chart on Twitch using wifi and you'll see how much that...
No price or subscription model and dummies are already getting hyped like this will be the best option.
Yea, on garbage speed and bandwidth good luck playing multiplayer with worse latency than a Smash Bros online match. LOL
Unless Google is willing to help pay our bills, this isn't going to replace traditional gaming anytime soon.
Valve and Microsoft doesn't pay for timed exclusive rights on their PC stores and the permanent exclusives they have are either developed by them or the publishers just chose to put them there and nowhere else due to specific features. It wasn't this big of an issue when EA decided to put Battlefield on Origin only because it's their game where as Epic buys out games that were coming to Steam, doing a switcheroo a short time before launch. That's like when Microsoft took Rise ...
People who don't think it's a big deal have never used Steam or have seen the Epic Store.
1 month of signing up and my Epic account gets locked out. 4 years of using Steam and I've been good while having plenty of features.
Valve also just recently added better multiplayer connections and options.
To be honest, glad Epic is desperate purchasing timed exclusives, shooting themselves in the foot. (e.g. security holes and spywa...
They're damaging their momentum if they do put it on Epic Store first.
When MCC was announced on Steam, the hype was real, especially on Reddit. They do this and it will be another Exodus.
That's a lost sale on my part. Steam's features are too good, especially for a multiplayer game. I'll just stick to MCC for MP needs whenever this comes around if it's not on Steam.
Microsoft can't even buy their own way to making the Xbox an attractive console.
"It just works"
And it didn't and you can clearly see that community being almost non-existent.
There will be no articles about this kind of problem because at the time, it was all just clickbait for "journalists" and the weird Xbox community needed something against Sony at the time it had nothing, even till this day.
I've never and nobody I know has bought a game or bought a console because of cross-play. It's an extra feature, but not one that should be mandatory. Couldn't give a rat's @$$ if Xbox has a small community, I'm on PC, baby!
And with Master Chief Collection announced for Steam and already projected to be more successful than the Xbox version, Microsoft is slowly moving away from their failure.
Let them dream though. Bubble's going ...
With GPU prices back to normal, for a bit more than an Xbox One X, you can build something better.
Just a matter of being smart with it and getting parts on sale.
Regardless, in the long run, PC gaming is cheaper.
-No subscription for multiplayer. (That's $300 saved in 5 years, what's $500+300? Hmm?)
-Upgrade path meaning if a new console or version comes out, you're not buying certain parts twice...you only upgrade...
Translation: "We MIGHT stop seeking exclusives. Actually, come to think of it. We're going to eventually backpedal on that statement and it'll all be the same, just Valve making less money."
That's how I see it. Difficult to trust an arrogant scumbag who doesn't mind forcing where the consumer goes by buying out exclusives that were already coming out on Steam into a launcher with lack of features & security.
