This game looks so awesome. I loved GRAW but my gripe about that game was the lack of indoor levels. This looks to solve that! :)
A full Cell processor has only 10-20% yields, but this was known going into the endeavor so it's not exactly "news".
This is why the PS3 only uses 7 of the 8 SPE's. If one SPE fails the chip can still past tests for the PS3. This increases yields to ~40%.
I think this will spread faster then they are expecting, to the point that a new player to the game only needs to connect to a game or two to get the achievement.
From the consumer standpoint I certainly agree. I would rather spend $40-50 on a game that has a full plot line then $10 here and $20 there for story fragments.
Basically episodic content means we're going to be left with cliffhangers on every other game to try and get us to buy the next episode. What happens when the game is cancelled? We'll never know what happened to Johnny Spacedoom as he entered the vortex because company A just went bankrupt!
Your obviously missing the point. When the 360 is opened up to homebrew we will get XBMC and the emulators and all that jazz on a much more powerful and capable system. XBMC is great but the original xbox is not poweful enough to decode/render hi-def video sources. It's not even poweful enough to decode H.264 at SDef.
So this game is completely single player? No co-op or anything? I was looking forward to this as a "party game". My friend's aren't really into gaming but bashing zombies with garbage cans is fun for all. I just wish there was a 2-player mode even if it was story-less and just random exploration.
The apps in the background are avalaunch (a hacked dashboard for the xbox) and Surreal64 (a Nintendo64 emulator).
And to the person below, these have nothing to do with MS. MS is not releasing updates to the dashboard or releasing a 500gb HDD. If real, these came from the hacking scene.
And 8 years later, Prey goes gold!!! Now somebody get working on Duke Nukem Forever.
It wasn't spelled correctly, you put "Bullet With".
This was game was always set to be priced at 1200 points, they did not increase the price.
Wow give these guys a prize! Who would have thought that the future of gaming involves the internet!?!?!?!
The environment and atmosphere looks absolutely spectacular and the player models are absolutely horrid and do not blend into the environment whatsoever. It almost looks like the environments are pre-rendered or something? Reminds me of old disney movies where they oil-paint a scene and then put cartoons on top of it.
I'll just give this game the benefit of the doubt since it's still pre-launch and has a lot of time to improve.
So you mean I need to pay $10 everytime I want to play my PS3?
Should we blame the government, or blame society? Or should we blame the gaming industry?
NO!
Blame Marc Ecko's Getting Up!
It looks to be the actual game engine. The FF games always look much better then other games because there is very little interaction with the environment, very little physics to calculate, "hitbox calculations" are just a random number generator etc etc. Pretty much everything is canned animations so all the processing power goes to the graphics alone.
Not knocking it, awesome looking game. I doubt I'll pick it up though, just played like 20 hours of FFX and was less...
It's all a clever scheme to cover up the fact they're making WOW for the 360. Let everyone know!!!
I still havn't seen any confirmation that the case includes the LED's (lighting). Kind of a pointless window-cut if not.
If these delays are related to malfunctioning (which they probably are) then it's not a very good sign of things to come. Even if they get the defect rate down I bet we're going to see lots of malfunctioning optical drives in the PS3, and them dieing over short periods of time (hopefully just out of the warranty period, eh Sony?)
So Ubisoft is ripping off Ubisoft???
The ulimate party game! Now i'm going to need to buy 2 more controllers :(
