Wow, that gameplay is fast! I felt a little queasy watching it... Campaign is where it's at for me though.
Unless you refuse to see it, it's pretty clear that there's a bias in the media these days. Look at the virtually unconditional love heaped on CRYSIS 2, a multiplatform game, despite it being riddled with many of the issues that were used to beat KZ3 (an exclusive) over the head with.
It DOES look decent and polished, but to hear the rantings from it's cheerleaders here you'd expect the second coming when you start the game up.
I think DEAD SPACE 2 looks waaayyyy better than CRYSIS 2. Sure, it's indoors and claustraphobic, but that's what matters to me: ATMOSPHERE over pixels. CRYSIS 2 has zero of that - On consoles it screams "look what I'm doing so well" when it actually isn't doing it very well at all.
And when I try to present WHY I think this objectionable "You don't agree with me so you MUST be a fanboy/brainwashed/blind" is just as bad as any other kind of fanboyism, the "disagree" hoardes emerge from their bunkers completely oblivious to how hypocritical and decidely sisniter their attitude is.
And OPOIKL, I've made plenty of comments about the MANY flaws in CRYSIS 2, yet they fall of death ears and are glossed over in people's despera...
Why do all the nasty name-callers who shout down and abuse those who disagree with them have the most bubbles?
Isn't dismissing someone else's opinion as "brainwashing", "fanboyism" and "blindness" without even CONSIDERING the possibility that they may genuinely, honestly think that sort of, ya' know, a 'brainwashed','fan boyish' and 'blind' remark in itself?
I genuinely believe CRYSIS 2 is overated and that KILLZONE 2 and 3 look better in just about every way, but because the Crytek cheerleaders have adopted a border...

Hmm, seems that CRYSIS 2 can't have "fanboys" and that their assertion it's the best looking console game ever MUST be right.
Any opposing view MUST be supressed with the usual stealth bullying cloaked behind cries of "blind fanboyism" and those that genuinely think KZ3 is better in just about every way are in "denial".

Exclusives utilise the strengths of their respective systems (or they should, anyway) - Without them, this stupid insistance on multiplatform parity would render multi-consoles pointless and we'd have an industry standard for games much like VHS or DVD foisted upon us. That would, I believe, have developers resting on their laurels as they wouldn't be competing as much.

WTF? I wouldn't have even known if it hadn't been for all the online griping - I played from beginning to end quite happily.
Because there was no mandatory hard drive to install to on some original 360 models - is terrible, yes?
Maybe they're not disagreeing with the fact that that it should be "optional", maybe they're disagreeing that it's actually a problem worth getting in a tiz about or bleating about in overblown 'news' headlines.
It isn't "pretty", it isn't "ugly"; it's a mandatory install that would take around four or five minutes (CRYSIS 2 installed to my PS3 in around three).
Some journalist are getting extremely pretentious these days.
So if people genuinely, passionately believe KZ3 (and even KZ2) are way better than CRYSIS 2 in just about every way then they absolutely MUST be "blind and biased"??

It's playing okay so far, but I'm considerably underwhelmed by the visuals. I consider it on a par with RESISTANCE 2 from what I've seen, and unless the story takes a major right turn soon, it's no less "generic" than KZ3 (the voice acting and dialogue too). I was walking towards a tree near the start of the game,and a fire just popped up at it's base when I was barely a few (virtual) feet away.
Hopefully this sincere, genuine opinion won'...
Technical prowess is secondary to me - If a game has ATMOSPHERE then that's half the battle won as far as I'm concerned and is why I like the Killzone series so much. R3 seems to have it in abundance too - The wind effects are very effective.
Of course I'm judging from just a small screen, but that looks more impressive than a certain other FPS released recently (that I can't mention for fear of being called a "fanboy")
