Is this a discussion or an opinion, as that headline seems to have made it's mind up.
If hostages are murdered, I don't blame whatever Presidents or Prime Ministers didn't give in to their captors' demands, I blame the murderers themselves.
If a woman is assaulted for having a skirt a few inches 'too short', I DON'T blame her, I blame the filth who carried out the attack.
In the same way, I DON'T blame Sony, I blame the gits who actually, you know, perpetrated the CRIME!!!!
If Sony offered every PSN user a sack of gold we'd STILL see wall to wall whinging in certain quarters...
If you did buy the year then the money has been spent and is no longer in your wallet - This refund seems to be for money that remains in your PSN wallet unspent.
"Playstation wallet funds are non-refundable"... tells you that every time you put funds in. Sony have clearly made an exception in this case, ergo it's unexpected.
What the..? I've been playing games, watching Blu-Rays and SURFING THE 'NET (yes, you can stil do that) with no problem since the PSN went down. How is that comparable to a design flaw that breaks your console?
Quite rightly, there's no way that Sony are ever going to say "we are 100% SURE no CC details were taken", so this is as close to confirmation as possible that nothing was taken that we can get and I'm happy to hear it.
All I'd like is that the time the PSN is down to be 'credited' to my PS+ subscription. Doesn't seem fair to pay for a year yet only get fifty weeks (or whatever).
Apart from that, I don't expect or want anything.
If card details have been stolen then I think Sony are legally obliged to inform the individuals concerned, but nobody else has to be told.
Equally, they're hardly going to declare "everything is safe" until a thorough investigation has been completed.
I got the code last week and dowloaded the beta before the Network went down - Smooth as butter it is too, way more refined than INFAMOUS (as you'd expect). Not bothering to build any missions until things are up and running again so right now I'm just running around zapping cars & civvies.
"lol" at the blind drones that spit on sony no matter what happens and twist everything they do into a comment worthy of tacking "lol" on for no reason.
And if they're for the "freedom of the exchange of information", I DEMAND That they publicly post a full and comprehensive list that includes names & addresses of their 'members'. If they refuse, then they tacitly acknowledge that not all information should be published in the public domain, ergo they're the worst kind of hypocrites.
Reimbursed? Nah, PS+ (to which I subscribe) posts items that stay up for a while so will be still be there when the PSN returns - I haven't 'missed' anything.
BUT, I do think the ammount of days that the PSN is down should be 'credited' to subscribers' accounts so that I still get the full year in real terms.
"AnonOps"? "Cells"? "war"...? I truly, utterly despise these pretentious toads.
Someone with five bubbles no less... Shameful and dispicable, indeed.
The message has changed from "error logging on" to "undergoing maintenance", so that's some progress at least!
I am and always have been a single player fan first and foremost, and if anything good comes from this it's the reminder that game developers have become too obsessed with putting their eggs in the multiplayer online basket at the expense of us campaign fans.

My god, there are PEOPLE out there!!!
Just bought SOCOM too (the patch for which installed just fine, even while I couldn't access PSN). Great game it is - Happy to play SP until stuff is sorted, and I need to catch up on FARSCAPE DVD's anyway!
And if it's an individual or a small number "inspired" by those tools?
If they fancy themselves as some sort of worthy paramilitary group, they should find this "rogue cell" (ho!) and knee-cap them.
"We are legion, but we all do our own thing apparently"
