" it is streamlined."
Which makes it feel less like an RPG imo. I'm not saying all the new changes are bad, but it seems like some of them are only meant to simplify the game which they do a good job at but depth is lost in the process. I'm also disappointed with the fact that they just completely took out the Mako. I loved driving that thing around while exploring planets. It felt like playing a new version of Moon Patrol.
I've played the game through twice already. Sounds to me like you haven't played ME1. There's definitely less weapons customization this time around. In ME1 we had plenty of ways to modify weapons like changing ammo types, and adding different parts to modify recoil, accuracy, and heat dampening. Then they nerfed all the biotic/tech classes while adding in universal power cool downs. You know what, I'm not gonna name all the bad changes they've made because the list would be too long, but it'...
Why does the game need to be more open-world? That just adds to our time wasted getting from point A to point B. FPSs with open-world gameplay can be pretty dreadful at times unless done right. I hate thinking about all the time I wasted playing Far Cry 2.
Forgot to mention Mass Effect 2. Oh I forgot it isn't a bad port, the devs just stripped all the RPG out of it to cater to the GeOW crowd on the 360.
Hostess bars sound like a western version of a gentleman's club. A proper gentleman's club and not a strip club that claims to be one.
It's obvious most of the commenters here don't even own a 360 seeing as how the install is optional.
Sounds like the guy was mentally ill. How hard is it to be quiet? That's something little kids learn to do in school. He either wasn't in his right mind or he was purposely acting out trying to start some drama with his mom. This guy's lucky his mom isn't like the women in my family becuase he would've had the sh!t beaten out of him.
"This seems to be a set of single core fixes... Shame there's not a fix for the missing RPG mode - I can only get this to run in TPS mode!"
I was thinking the same thing. BTW, everyone that thinks planet scanning is better than driving the mako should go and check themselves into rehab immediately.
Many of you guys are uninformed about the way things work in the UAE. I'm pretty sure it still won't be to hard for someone living there to get a copy of the game.
Got to love Dr. Robotnik. He's one persistent eggman whose smart enough to change up his tactics every time you fight him.
Screw censorship of any kind.
Typical fanboy tactic. Dragging one games name in the mud to promote another.
I've never seen so many clueless comments in one thread before. Most of you guys must be little kids whose first console was a PS3 because I can't think of any other reason why you'd think KZ2 is the first game to have a lean/peek system.
If Gears of War never existed Mass Effect 2 would still be an action-rpg and not a 3rd person shooter.
Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins were the first games I bought day one in a long time.
This article seems like bs to me.
Bioware stripped the hell out of the RPG in ME2. They obviously only listened to the feedback from the shooter only fans when they were looking for ideas on how to improve the franchise. I'm not saying ME2 isn't a great game, it's actually now one of my all time favs, but if you think this game is a genuine RPG then boy are you wrong.
Fallout 3 doesn't deserve to be on that list. I can't see why people think it's so great. Oblivion was better. Dragon Age is the best WRPG of this gen imo, ME1 is the second best, and third would be Oblivion. I heard The Witcher is a good game, but I haven't played it so I can't say if it deserves to be on this list. I haven't played too many JRPGs this gen. I've been going back to the oldies like FF6 and 7, Legend of the Dragoon, and FF Tactics.
"I will just say to those who think the game was hurt by simplifying the inventory: This game is a better game than the first by a mile. The choices and RPG elements focused more on the dialog. Baby sitting your inventory and equipment is fun in slow games like Fallout. ME2 tried to speed up the game and have players focus on dialog. The fact is this has worked very well and as a result the game is selling like hot cakes. It is a very fun game to play. I am happy that there are developer...
Finally a decent top 10 list. I would've thrown in TMNT: Turtles in Time though.
