Is it really that surprising? I remember when Peter Moore used to mention metacritic rankings against the PS3 saying "Xbox has more games over 90 than our competition."
Hold on when did the 360 have the supperior version of FC2? From all the comparisons i've seen and read they are exactly the same with a few minor differences where the PS3 has better shadows, and the 360 is slightly less jaggy but are essentially the same.

It isn't worse, it's just now in 2008 it's comparable to other games that have been released. Remember when GeOW was released in 2006 it was a stand out which really differentiated itself from the then current-gen PS2 & XBOX era.
Anyway it seems like an amazing game regardless, a must buy for any X360 owners.
As it pains me to say this as I am a huge Sony fanboy (who just so happens to have a 360). I will have to get this over anything that comes out on the PS3 these holidays.
THEY ARE BOTH ESSENTIALLY THE SAME ACCORDING TO THIS COMPARISON! ONE IS SLIGHTLY DARKER (PS3) WHILE THE OTHER IS BRIGHTER (XBOX)!

Can I get an honest opinion on this issue? I was going to upgrade my PSP 1000 to a 3000 should I still do it? I mean is it fairly subjective like the ghosting issue (which I have never really noticed) or is it something more major?

You can't make assumptions mate as it's impossible to tell how much the components themselves cost to each company.
For MS you have to understand that they buy all of their components from third party manufacturers while Sony makes at least 50+% of theirs for the PS3. Therefore Sony has an advantage where they control the manufacturing costs to a degree while MS doesn't for Individual components.

I can't believe people are whining over this as the positives of HDD installs far outway those of just relying on the drive to stream everything.
If we were to look at the 360 streaming only off the disc it creates problems where it has:
-Loud Noises from the disc drive
-Disc drive begins to wear out running at such high speeds
-If the console itself is moved when turned on the disc tends to get scratched
-Scratched discs tend to occur more often
