I don't think it will be a problem with PS4/Pro but you're right...it will be a different story with the Scorpio because the gap is much wider...we all know they will abandon the X1 rather sooner than later, and if it's just to gain a real advantage over the Pro.
Scorpio is going to use X86 tech just like PS5 presumably. It won't be problematic to make them backwards compatible. It was more difficult with the 360's PowerPC tech and even impossible with the Cell.
Luckily most updated games do also run better on the Pro. Those that hadn't at release have already been patched.
What makes you assume PS5 won't be backwards compatibile?! It's pretty much a given it will also be based on X86 technology which makes it easy to implement backwards compatibility.
