I didn't get a Ps4 till about 8 months in I believe, so I don't remember it's launch as well as I didn't follow it till I purchased one. (think it was just before D3 reaper of souls was released).
The Switch has remakes of the Wii U's greatest titles, where I've played BOTW on Wii U, I won't get a new experience, and Mk8 is great, but the deluxe edition doesn't warrant a new console purchase at £300ish. The rest of the titles, aren'...
I don't have views against the Switch, I only have views against current content and price. If it was a tad cheaper, and games didn't have a high RRP, it would make the Switch more appealing. The list of games does look thin (for the titles I'm actually interested in). That for now, it's not a console I see great value for money at this stage, but down the line, maybe.
I'm trying to work out how cartoonish graphics makes a console lack luster?
Isn't it down to the art style of the developer to pick the graphics quality?
Overwatch has a slight cartoon style, Borderlands has shade cartoon graphics. Not sure how the platform effects this choice?
"They all look cartoonish and childish.
Hard pass for any serious gamer. "
If this is how a "serious gamer" looks ...
Your views is exactly what I'm worried about. I don't want a switch just for Nintendo games, I want a switch for choice of "do I want X title for solo player for the ps4 on the tv, or on a small screen on the go with the switch."
My Wii U barely got used, only a small handful of titles were purchased on the system. If it had more 3rd party titles I would've picked them up on the Wii U over the ps4, just so I can play them in the dark while in bed.
Its something I want as I own the rest. But lack of games is really dampering my lust for owning a switch. I do not want a Wii u 2.0 come next year or the year after. Nintendo aren't worth my time if it comes to that. Burnt once, not going to risk it twice.
No, year 2 or 3 will struggle. I want the switch to succeed, but without solid 3rd party support. The sales will dry out.
The list isn't bad. Already played watchdogs on ps4 but don't mind getting a triple A title for free. Its not a bad game either.
Quality looks rather cheap in the title. Was watching someone streaming it last night, didn't look all that. Not really caught up in the hype.
Tbh, even though I'm not really interested in life is strange, that's a pretty solid title to throw towards ps+.
Beats getting an identical indie platformer.
Killing floor 2, I was tempted to grab from a previous sale, but if this leak is true. I've saved myself a few bucks.
Wonder if it's not true, what games would we get instead?
It looks like that world of tanks game but in a dusty looking world.
Was hoping for something fallout mmo, With the ability to get cars.
Movies that try to copy video games tend to suck.
Either the director has no idea what the game is about and makes their own pathetic twists (resident evil series, silent hill 1 etc).
Or they try cram so much lore into a movie and fail due to skipping important bits Or confusing people who don't follow the game (warcraft, silent hill the 2nd etc).
The only movie I'd like to see if The Last Of Us, but I fear that'll suck. A direct c...
As Meka2611 said, each expansion had one raid, couple of dungeons and bland world content.
I played release, then came back for the taken king expansion. Felt the content was not worth my money.
Won't be buying destiny 2, not going to fall for the same mistake twice.
It's not hard to figure out their new plans.
Sell more small packages content at full retail. Then sell catch up bundles (standard game + dlc 1+ 2) then repeat for each new piece of dlc.
Tbh, I see that the future of gaming consoles is what Mobile Phones are turning into.
They are now mini desktops once they are plugged into a dock (Samsung S8+).
It was a nice looking game, with an ok storyline. but the gameplay sucked big time, it was a gears of war clone, but done poorly.
Cut scene > run down hall way > hide behind boxes > kill waves of mobs > repeat.
Tbh, I would probably play the switch in handheld mode 90% off the time. The Wii U was bought mainly for tablet mode in bed at night. Feel it's more immersive looking at the small screen in the dark.
I think I'd do the same for the Switch, if I were to purchase one down the line.
What do you mean?
I've put off buying a pro, I recently got a 4k tv, I just don't think the Pro would do a good enough job to warranty the cost difference.
Last game I was interested in checking out in 4k is ff15 and read it suffers running the game at 4k (dips below 30fps).
Go for it, I want the switch to succeed. The Wii U, was meant to be my go to console even having a ps4 in the house. I wanted the Wii U to be what I play when I can't sleep. Something I just set up the tablet and go.
The switch, I'd love for it to have a huge library of multi platform games. Even with downgraded visuals. Then I would buy a switch over a ps4 pro/Xbox Scorpio
I bought my Xbox one mainly for snap tv, then BC enabled.
Snap tv was a let down, laggy mess that it was disappointing.
Bc is great but just don't have the time to play the games I want currently.
So I tend to play my ps4 over my Xbox one due to the snap tv feature being terrible and planned to be removed (or already have, not used the Xbox in months).
