For crying out loud people, read the article. He's not "boycotting" the game, he's saying it looks TOO GOOD to rush through, and he's got a huge backlog of AAA games already on deck. He wants time to be able to savor the experience, and that's absolutely his prerogative, is it not?
Ugh, it already stinks like a crowded boy's dormitory as it is, and that's filled with people I know have jobs.
God, I hate these articles. Some of us grew up after high school and some of us didn't. I have a daughter that I'm introducing to gaming, and I don't really give a crap if you call me "SJW" for not wanting her to be turned off from it by stuff like this.
The reasons I got bored with this game had nothing to do with the size of the play area.
I stopped reading this comment when you said you stopped reading the review. If you only read things that mirror what you believed going in, then what's the point?
There's no way to call a game a flop this soon after release. It's got a solid rating, great word of mouth, a robust marketing campaign; and sales will accrue over the year.
Unless TLOU of was reviewed by the same person, how is that pertinent? How many thousands of reviews are you going to dismiss because you disagree with one score?
The combat was my least-favorite and most worrisome aspect of the demos. When I read in these early reviews how it's one of the game's stronger points, I get a big red flag that this might not be the game for me.
Please, tell me more about a game you've never played.
Make 'em more about the player, and less as a checklist for developers. Most companies use them as a way to see what the gamer has accomplished, as a sort of instant feedback. Get more creative.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion; but honestly, if "nothing in this game struck [him] as visually stunning" and he "didn't like the soundtrack", then maybe it's time for the author to question if playing/rating video games is really the hobby/vocation for him.
Even without dialogue, story, or gameplay, the set pieces and music alone are worth a 7.
Hi! I don't own the game but I read online there were problems with multiplayer, so I thought I'd complain about every positive review because it makes me feel smart and well-informed!
Come on, there needs to be a bare minimum standard for English proficiency on this site. Deciphering this literally gave me a headache.
LGBT people exist, they play games and they make games. Sometimes this will be reflecting in games. Next.
The only thing I'm apprehensive about is the combat. During fights, I thought the camera was too close, the button-mashing redundant, and the strategy non-existent. I don't think I needed to dodge/roll at all in any of the demos, and when I tried it just for kicks, I found the O button unresponsive.
For those that don't wanna watch a way-too-long video or decipher the author's broken writing, the "big scare" is the empty building sometimes plays the scripted noises for an occupied building. Yup.
Decent review, but how many C-List publications are we gonna have to sit through until we get some meat and potatoes?
What do you mean "respect is not automatically given. It has to be earned"? That's ridiculous. You either give someone your trust or your respect, or you don't. If you wait for them to "earn it", then what, you disrespect them until they do?
Speaking from Poland, we've already got a delusional right-wing bigot in charge, thanks.
I understand that this is out of N4G's hands for a large part, but this happens just way too often. If some sites are malware-ridden but not others, how am I to know which is which?
