I don't really think it's a move against Sony as much as an investment into their services and betting on them to be the future of gaming. Microsoft is trying to be the Netflix of gaming while Sony is sticking with the traditional model of gaming. Besides, these games are all still going to come to Sony consoles.
They could probably do it for a reasonable price too since Konami doesn't really have any interest in gaming anymore.
Honestly they got ripped off. Bethesda has been floundering and they paid more for Bethesda than disney paid for marvel and star wars franchises. That's insane. On top of that, these games may not be made exclusive to their own consoles and will probably come to other consoles.

I've been saying it for a long time. Games pass is nothing but a repackaged version of their DRM and being treated as more of an investment right now. As soon as they have enough subscribers and physical discs are no longer an option, this service will drastically change.

I don't understand the hype for their new game. The CGI trailer told us almost nothing about what the game will be. It was quite literally an arrow shot into a skeleton and that was the trailer.

I know it's unpopular but it's been a long time coming. I mean game prices haven't gone up in over 15 years. That's a lot of inflation. It's either the game prices go up or microtransactions and season pass garbage keeps getting worse and worse.
