Not really. The biggest difference is that Microsoft games come to games pass immediately which means that you essentially getting brand new games on a subscription service for pretty cheap. While that sounds great, the reality means that they'll shift their focus to GaaS since people are getting the game cheap. Playstation exclusives come to ps now eventually which means you generally keep the same pricing model that exists now. The only way games pass works is if they start doing GaaS. ...

Disagree with the point that sony should have a service like games pass. With their mostly single player line up I'd hate to see them shift their focus to GaaS like Microsoft is doing. I'd rather them keep doing what they're doing.

Guess they wont be backwards compatible then, huh?

I think it depends on if the last of us 2 releases this year. If the only exclusives ps4 drops this year is days gone, MLB, shenmue, and maybe dreams then I can definitely see a dip in sales for the ps4.

Bethesda trying to turn this into a single player game by driving everyone away from the game. Everyone left playing can have their own server.

Aim for the head.

Fairest review I've seen. Loved the throwback to the oldschool rpg style but everything else was just not as good and the story was a jumbled mess.

Is Microsoft doing an ad campaign through small gaming sites now?

Why even bring up xbox? Should be ps4 vs switch.

Thanks for making a list so we can see the poor state of the games.

This was the worst year for games for Microsoft yet there are countless articles on how well they did and how they are striking back.

Shocking that it performs bad when the head of DICE was telling people to not buy the game when fans expressed concerns and criticism.

I wouldnt put too much faith in Microsoft. So far this gen they've been all talk and even with these studio acquisitions just remember what they did to rare. I have a feeling Microsoft next generation is going to go all in on games that are games as a service model. Game pass just sets that up too well and they've been flirting with the idea of it for a while. Always talking high about GaaS.

I think what they were going for was as of 2018. You're right though, that's confusing.

I'd like to see more summer releases. It would make sense too. A large part of the gaming demographic are teenagers or early twenties. Kids who are in school or college. A lot of them will get summer jobs and have more free time in the summer. Right now though it is probably the most sparse time for releases. Seems backwards to me to have the biggest releases of the year come out around exam time for your biggest demographic.

Noctis from FF15. Nothing like a hipster prince.

Yeah, unless they go historically accurate and let you take place in some of the biggest moments of the war then I'd rather play in modern times. Just dont like the campaigns where you only know that you're fighting in WW2 setting, but you may not even be told what battle you're fighting in or some of them are even made up.

Not talking about sales. Talking about games....

Built up momentum. They've started this gen really slow and improved every year.

If that happens they essentially wont get paid for their work.
