There is a plus side to used games that the industry choses to ignore. Dead Space 1 for example was a horible selling game no one bought it new at least. But amazingly it was a huge hit in used games & when they launched dead space 2 they sold the living crap out of the game. Used games do help build fans for games & make sequels posible.
The single most important #1 thing is a clear official explanation on used games policy & what will happen.
Truth be told i dont think people who visit sites like ign & n4g will be stupid enough to fall for there whole used game system, but there is a large ammount of uninformed consumers that will buy then just deal with it sadly
i get all my games from gamefly. No word yet if there is going to be a rental deal worked out, im assuming not. If there is no deal with Microsoft One ill be going the ps4 route.
Ive had gamefly for almost 3 years now & have played basically every major release to come out this gen & a lot of not so major ones. Dear god ive played 199 games this gen.
The deciding factor on this is used games. If sony sticks to there word & dosent force something on us like microsoft is. If at launch & microsoft doesnt have some deal worked out with gamestop & used games really are locked out but not on ps4 the xbox one will & should die a quick death!
The used game thing is the deciding factor so far. Depending on what gamefly will be able to do with next gen assuming i can still get games for ps4 & not the xbox 1 (which is what it looks like at this point) i will be buying the ps4. Its sad really because i have both this gen & love my 360 & my ps3 but microsoft is killing themsleves imo
yea i could easily see publishers adding a fee that is same price as the used game fee with microsoft. This really really kills my buzz about next gen.
My biggest thought is if its true & they pretty much eliminate used games how quickly until they realise a lot of games arent selling because people dont have trade in money or cant trade games in they dont like. I bet its a lot bigger ammount of moeny then people take into consideration.
this is what got me worried. PS4 said they wont do this but it isnt in writing anywhere. Ive had gamefly for 3 years now & play every game that comes out. Not sure i can go back to 1 new game every other month.
agreed 100%. I could also see them releasing games in "story dlc" where as you get the first half of the game & the rest you have to buy as dlc.
I dont trust them, my first & still main thought after hearing this is what are you going to do instead?

Let look at it this way EA having the exclusivity to the Madden franchise has ensured that they make a better game than the competition :)
Apparently im from the old school IMO FF III (VI) is the best of the series.

GOTY Contender, remember its only may :) I agree its so far Tomb Raider & Bioshock Infinite imo but we still have The last of Us, Beyond two sould, GTA V, Remember Me, Batman Ahrkham Origins. Just saying its to early to crown a winner!

Jesus people just cant let Aleins go. It really wasnt as bad as people say. Yes it was a call of duty clone set in aliens universe. I have playe d alot worse clones before. Gearbox greatest thing they have is Borderlands obviously & one of its greatest strengths is it doesnt take itself to seriously & jokes about things constantly. Had gearbox done that with aliens & throw jokes in the game people would have bitched about how they were making fun of aliens.
Im almost 30 & i play games more now then i did 10 years ago. My son is starting to really like playing games & i only assume it will lead me to playing more with him.
