But SEGA is not the big company that it used to be back in the days and Sony already was a consumer electronics giant when they started working with Nintendo and later started to create the PlayStation. I just mean the console market has changed so much in the last few decades. Look at how much money has to be put into a project like the PS4 or Xbox One, it's such a huge investment that SEGA could never ever take by its own. Consoles are not those weird machines with some chips in them th...

No the problem that I see is that people want to get stuff even if the cannot afford it right away. They no longer want to safe for something when it's already available. That's kind of sad.

I know, I'm European as well, and even though that would be the correct equivalent in USD, as you know the just swap the $ with the € sign, so in the end they pay less in the US.

But to say that it will be at around 770$ in the US is wrong, because if you swap the currency sign it would still be 599 USD.

Who cares though, it's for pre-order and they even say that the price is not final (obviously) at Amazon.de and people do expect it to be cheaper, be...

However many hardware stores offer you an installment payment at a zero percentage rate, that's pretty much the same to me.

Edit.: And if people can't afford it all up front they should relearn how to lay money aside, but in today's society we want everything NOW and CHEAP.

That's totally how I'm thinking.

Other people might say now that they use their mobile phones much more often and for many more things, but that's a little bit hypocritical imho. People also pay 10€ to eat at Mc Donald's, waste enough money for their designer clothes, spent hundres of dollars for styling, cigarettes, partying and, well, you get the point and are able to think of other examples. So 400 or 500€ wouldn't be that bad for a device that you use ...

I'm gonna copy and paste my comment about the PS4 pre-order price:

You should know that for hardware the price in EUR is the same as the price in USD, so it's more like 599USD for the pre-order as well. Consoles are much more expensive over here, at least you know how much we had to pay for the PS3. And the Americans were pissed because of the infamous 599 US dollars...

SEGA wouldn't have the money, resources, infrastructure and technical knowledge to reenter the console market, unless they make a huge deal with a huge electronics company, but that is very very very unlikely.

And keep in mind that the PS3 was released a year later in the US and more than that in Europe.

"Xbox One is surveillance device" might even be a hadline. Yesterday evening I've seen a news report on German TV about the Xbox and they were using that quote (the original one in German). I'd not be surprised if some mainstream media from other places would follow and if other people would make similar statements that are worth quoting.

Anyway, I do totally agree with you, but the solutions you give is another problem imho. Making hardware and software cha...

With my comment I did not want to comment on the situation as a whole or my personal opinion. I already did that a couple of times around here. I just wanted to help others to understand the translated quote a bit better, because it's a little bit misleading in the article here.

When I saw the gif in the post http://i.minus.com/iqX51MvB... and read the sentence "I fought the war" I had to think about the song that Sony was using in the opening promo video for the February press conference, Monster Hospital (MSTRKRFT Remix) by Metric. Sony is so good at pickung the right music.

And if anyone is interested:

The sentence "The fact that Microsoft is now spying on my living room is merely a twisted nightmare." is a mistranslation. Schaar does not believe that Microsoft will use Kinect to spy him, but it's like the worst case scenario that could happen.

Just wanted to point that out. But he's obvioulsy still not happy with the Xbox One and still thinks that it's probably not legal.

Edit.: Just wanted to add for all who cannot speak German that ...

I'm glad that Sony as the creator of the Blu-Ray disc, along with the BDA, can choose if they will regionlock games or not and also leave it to the stuidos to regionlock their movies or not. And Sony has since of the start of the BD never regionlocked anything big (just one or two Japanese games have been afaik).

And that is great, I can order games from the US if I want to. I did that with RE5 and Resistance 2 to get a Special Edition that was exclusive to it. But it als...

First off 'hail' is English and the correct spelling in German would be 'heil' with an 'e'. But you're to ignorant to even realize that.

Second off I'll definately report your comment. This is just offensive, stupid and does add nothing to the conversation whatsoever.

And may someone help you if everytime you hear something about Germany you have to think of Hitler. And now please leave N4G forever.

I'm really interested in how the Xbox One will work in Europe and especially Germany for example, because over here the laws are much stricter when it comes to data privacy than in the US.

If you compare the TOS of many different products and services you can see that users here have quite a few more rights and companies do not have some of the otions to collect and use data here that they have in other territories and especially the US.

I'll definately want to get a Vita. I'd definately appreciate new Vita games made for the Vita, but the ability to stream PS4 games to the Vita is already a good reason for me to get one. Can't wait to see how those systems will work for other uses.

That is going to make people, especially us gamers, even more mad.

We have other ways to express our opinions and I highly doubt that move will help them eventually. We still have Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites, forums and gaming sites and of course other ways to express out opinion to the mainstream media.

Bad move that seems 'clever' at first, but will just make the fire bigger and bigger and ...

Such a stupid article that consist of 90% theories only.

And does the author even know what 1st party means? First party games are made by developers that belong to the console manufacturer. So, let's look at the examples: Insomniac Games is an independent studio = 3rd party. And who know, the newest game looks rather bad, so they might go back to Sony and may even get aquired by them (yn). MGS is made by Kojima Productions that is owned by Konami = 3rd party. And finaly ...
