Well I'm German and the situation here has been way worse than it is right now, the German rating board (USK) got a lot more tolerant in the past few years. Games like Dead Space, GoW III, GTA 4, Black Ops 2 (especially Zombies) and most recently Saint's Row 4 and the (cut) version of TLoU would not have made it here at all or only with plenty of cuts a decade or so ago, and keep in mind that graphics got far more realistic than they used to be in the past.

They said that they have no plans on patching it for the territories in which they could have released it uncut, simply because they apparently can't (which is bulls*** btw, because they could very well release an uncut DLC in the Store, patch the version by checking for the IP and only include countries in which they can patch or check for the country of the acco...

Edit: I mean GTA 4 ran in 720p on the 360 and sub-HD on the PS3 and the world was a lot smaller than GTA 5's world, so it's would be pretty naive and idiotic that such a game could run in 1080p, especially when other, smaller, more linear games have trouble to run in 720p at 30fps. So to me it's already impressive if the games does run in HD on the two consoles and has a stable framerate.

Yeah, usual timing after GDC and before gamescom. I'm really excited for potential new titles. I have a feeling that well see some cool launch titles and some surprises, but I'm also expecting the same for TGS :D

That's actually an interesting idea if it would also work if you had the disc in your PS4 and do not want to use/waste the laser basically and maybe get some better loading times. But those games are PS1-3 games and I'm not sure how easy it would be for Sony to verify that copy because it can only see that it's a disc but not read that disc to verify it and if it can also see what's on the disc, how does it know that the game is a legal copy. They do really need new original IPs and new stuff to build on. Nostalgia is good and in general all Nintendo games have excellent gameplay, but it would still be great to actually see something new.

But it is NOT that next 3d Mario game. It can not be seen as a successor to 64, sunshine, and Galaxy. And I do not know which previews you were reading, but I've seen many where people did say that it's more in line (as the title suggests) with their Land/World series they've been doing lately. It focuses on co-op to much and the levels are relatively uninspired, that's what I've heard. It's more like a get from point A to be sort of thing.

I am certain that Sony is very well aware of the current problems that the PS3 has and had and that they'll try to make it better with the PS4.

PS3 was developed at a time when the idea of digital stores wasn't that big, but it has become a main focus after the launch and I'm certain that one of Sony's and MS's focuses are on things like that and making apps work etc.

The biggest problem and what I don't get about Nintendo is this. Big N was very well aware that we'd see a new console from Sony and MS this year/early next year and let's just face it, the only reason most gamers and even hardcore gamers (like myself) only buy Nintendo consoles for the big Nintendo titles.

Personally I'll probably get a Wii U when the next real Zelda or HD Mario comes out (cat Mario isn't that game) and then I'll get Mario Kart 8 and ...

I'm assuming that games you bought digitally will be free, but if you only own a physical copy you will have to pay again, simply because there's no easy way to verify that you currently own and will always own the game.
